Legions of Gotham is proud to bring you the world premiere announcement about Scott Beatty's latest project.
Ever wanted an LoG to carry around? Now you can. Scott is currently developing the "DC COMICS ACTION FIGURE ARCHIVE"
The guide is coming in 2007 and will feature images and information on every action figure that Dc Comics has ever produced!
The published is Chronicle Books, the same folks that published the STAR WARS ACTION FIGURE ARCHIVE.
The guide is written by Scott Beatty, with photography by Marc Witz. Marc happens to be a big DC toy fan!
LoG has the exclusive first interview with Scott about the book. Please post any and all questions that you have about the upcoming guide here and we'll get an interview going.

Very cool, Matt! My question for Scott is this - Is there a certain action figure that is a real "stand out" to you? Something you find amazing or bizzare or head scratching... Thanks!

That is great news! I will be able to sit down and look at that and not have to rely on my feeble 32 year old brain to try and remember every little detail!!! Here's my question:
If there any character that hasn't been made that you feel is a glaring omission and needs to be made?
And by the way, thanks for doing the book!!! I'll preorder as soon as I can!

I have two questions. One, is this basically just covering DC Direct output, or will it be covering other associated DC related action figure product from the past as well? And secondly, will it also cover things such as minimates and who's who, or just the more traditional scaled action figure lines? Oh, and what's the cut off point for this particular guide, what current/future line will be the last one featured in this edition do you think? Okay, I guess I had three questions...
Also, if you need help with obtaining high quality digital images of any of the older DC Direct figures or variants, let me know, I have most of them right up until the end of last year (been a rough year this year on the old hip pocket, so I'm falling behind again) and access to a professional level SLR digital camera, so I'd be only too happy to help out if you needed it, as I'm sure would many others on this board if there's anything that you don't have or just couldn't source for this book, but would like original images of. The book's a great idea by the way, and I look forward to checking it out when it hits. I hope you have much success with it.

Like Severen, I'm curious to know if the book will cover toys outside of DC Direct's lines such as Mattel and Hasbro (but more importantly Mattel)? If so, will you be showcasing some of the packaging as well (especially for the Comic Con exclusives such as Catwoman and Solomon Grundy)? If packaging will be included, give me a shout, and I could probably help you get some the resources you might need (images, samples etc.).

dhunter -
I'm just giving the post a little time to settle, since not everyone visits the site everyday and I want everyone to have a chance to ask questions... and later this week I will be gathering the questions and emailing them to Scott to answer. Thats the plan as of right now.
