[shadow=green,left,300]One great feature of the Batwave communicator is the more villians you capture with it by watching the eps, the more mini-bios are unlocked! Here is some info about the characters including Victor Fries! You saw it first on LoG![/shadow] Victor Fries: A common bank robber whose accident in a cryogenics lab turns him into Mr. Freeze Kabuki Twins: Gale and Peri, formidable martial artists, never seen without their kabuki masks [shadow=green,left,300]and here are some screen shots of the toy featuring the villians. Enjoy![/shadow]

I'm curious who has both the communicator and batwave/batmobile? are they essentially the same device? or is there reason enough to buy both? I adore the Batwave/Batmobile. just dont know if its worth it to buy the communicater now?

Mr Freeze - a common bank robber? Seems like no "Heart of Ice" for The Batman.

[glow=red,2,300]I haven't seen one yet. Is it a watch or attached to some larger toy? I got the Batmobile a while back. That's a pretty cool toy for "kids." [/glow]

Well, I don't like Mr. Freezes Bio. I think I'll pass on this as I bought the Batwave batmobile and it seems the same. Here's the Bios on the Batmobile version.
Dr. Langstrom - A mad scientist whose research is driven by his obsession with Batman He becomes Man-Bat.
Victor Fries - A common bank Robber whose accident in a cryogenics lab turns him into Mr. Freeze
Bane (or Big Bane on the Batwave) - Using a special chemical concoctionBane is able to morph into a larger, more powerful self.
Kabuki Twins - Gale & Peri formidable martialartists, never seen without theirkabuki masks.
Catwoman - AKA Selina Kyle is Gotham's greatest catburglar, cunning and mysterious
For some reason both Joker & Penguin won't open on mine. I don't know if it's because I rebooted it.

[shadow=blue,left,300] What the....
Victor Fries...a common bank robber??!! I don't care how the episode goes, I'll never accept that Bio. Thats the exact same Bio they had for Mr. Freeze for the 60's series Batman show.
That sux.[/color][/shadow]

Yea, I totally wasn't happy with that Bio either. Still his design for "the Batman" does look sweet. PJ

Here's some info on Mr. Freeze, or as he was called in his first appearance, Mr. Zero.
"In “The Ice Crimes of Mr. Zero!” (Batman #121, February 1959) Batman and Robin first encountered Mr. Zero, a criminal scientist whose research in creating an “ice gun” backfires when he accidentally spills the chemical solution on himself, lowering his core temperature and forcing him to live in a zero-degree environment. With his air-conditioned costume and now-perfected ice gun. Mr. Zero goes on a chilly crime wave in Gotham, even succeeding in freezing Batman and Robin in solid blocks of ice. Batman manages to escape by rocking his ice block into a heating pipe, engulfing the room in hot steam, which coincidentally manages to cure Mr. Zero in the process."
He started out pretty lame if you ask me. Really, it wasn't until the TAS "Heart of ice" ep that most people really liked the character. Personally, I'm willing to give the show the benefit of the doubt and watch with an open mind.

And I hate to say this now, but other than the old 60's Batman TV show with Adam West and the filmation cartoon I don't really recall any stories with Mr. Freeze until BTAS revamped his story. So to me it just makes sense to stick with the BTAS revamp, because at least there was some depth to him then. Still, I'm not passing judgement until I actually see the episode. PJ

[shadow=red,left,300]Those are some great features! I'll defiantely have to pick the Batwave up, but none of my stores are carrying it yet. Too bad really, as I can't wait to take it home and play with it.[/shadow]

[glow=red,2,300]Alright I finally picked up the batwave today and spent half an hour goin' thru all the features and then I decided to use the man-bat episode to test the VEIL tech. So after about three or four minutes i got it to lock on and i got a bunch of things on it but i stopped it so i could watch Smallville. Then after Smallville I came back and tried to lock on again but i tried for fifteen minutes and nuthin'! So now i came to my computer and was hopin' to have someone else who owns a batwave to assist me and give some advice to a fellow bat-a-holic. Any advice, IF any would be great!!![/glow]

[shadow=green,left,300]Arkham - I haven't had any trouble with it..it only takes me maybe twenty to thirty seconds to lock-on. All I can think is that perhaps you're either sitting too close or too far away from the tv! If you check out the directions there's a graphic about where exactly to sit...maybe that'll help?
If not, you could contact Mattel Customer Service[/shadow]

Yeah you have to be around 6 feet away, but there's also something in the book about the heaight. The only trouble I have with mine (Batmobile) is the Tune-up I thought it read once it finishes the tune-up it'll stop and the batmobile will automatically start up, but mine never does it. Did I read that wrong? Thanks. PJ

I forget exactly what the instructions say, but after the tune up it lets me pick which mode I want the batmobile to be in. And I had the same problem that you did Arkham. I replayed the episode from the beginning and got it to lock on.

[glow=red,2,300]I've got it to work a couple of times now but it is a pain in the bats to do. Unfortunately the room i play the episode in has no tables to set it on, only my bed. Could this be a source of the problem? Also was the bane bio on the bane episode cause i only have the big bane bio. Same with the man bat, i only have langstrom.[/glow]

Post by Batlaw on Nov 4, 2004 17:44:45 GMT -5
Arkham: yeah there are both bane bios to capture. The only way IMO that being on the bed would interfere would be if bedding or other obstacles were obscuring the sensor or the tv's signal. double check your distance, height, and angle. fresh batteries in both the car and device? selected "watch tv" setting? I have had virtually no problems. be anal (like me) and aim it even and straight at the center of the tv from about 3 ft away. always possible you got a defect.. hope not

It could be the TV also as it doesn't work with rear projection or HD televisions. Also you changed the batteries right? because the battiries in the Batwave on the Batmobile are for display and have to be switched with real ones. Plus there's no batteries in the actual batmobile when you buy it. So you'll need 3 AAA & 3 AA. PJ
