Joseph Kuhr has posted in our Q&A thread with him here on the LoG forum. He has revealed to Bat-Fans that he wrote not only 'Team Penguin', but also 'Strange New World' and 'Rumors'. It looks as though there is actually a new villain named 'Rumor' featured in the Rumors episode.
" I wrote three episodes for season 4: "Team Penguin," "Strange New World," and "Rumors." I've seen story boards for TP (now that's an unfortunate acronym.) and for SNW and they look fantastic! And I've seen character designs for Rumor. Those art guys and gals are geniuses."
Joe had this to say about 'Strange New World': "Strange New World was my own idea. I was hoping that with the recent release of Batman Begins, the Scarecrow would be freed up for us to use, so I started working out a story for him. When it turned out he was still off-limits I was pretty disappointed ... until I realized that Hugo Strange would actually make a better antagonist for my story. Luckily Jelenic agreed with me (and they were looking for a story to bring back Strange) and Jeff Matsuda and Alan Burnett both liked the story and so did the network, so I was given the go ahead to take it to outline and finally to script."

Great news Matt! Have they announced who will be doing the voice of Hugo Strange, since Frank Gorshin died?

Thanks Kathrine. I didn't catch that one, so I thought that was the last Frank Gorshin episode

Oh man, we could've had Scarecrow this season? Damn you Bat-embargo! But it still looks like a great episode.

Green did a great job last time, and I'm glad they are bringing in another new villain of their own creation. Can't wait for Strange to return!

That's really cool. Rumor could have a lot of potential. I think all three of these episodes are great.
It is kind of ironic that there is a guy that writes for The Batman named Joe Kuhr, don't you think? It isn't quite Joe Kerr, but it is pretty close and I assume it sounds the same.

His last name is actually pronounced "Koor" not "Ker"...but still pretty funny. Its like 'Joker' with a bad accent, lol.

Regading that Bat-Embargo....
Sad that we still cannot get a Scarecrow on The Batman, as I know he would spectacular (as would the accompanying toy) but this raises a question.
If Scarecrow is off-limits because of the Batman Begins movie...does that mean when The Dark Knight comes to theatres, that we'll see a similiar embargo on our beloved Joker? Surely not.
I'm just a little confused as to the thinking behind these decisions. Doesn't exposure of the character = more knowledge and public interest? Would it stand to reason that if the Scarecrow (and Ras Al Ghul) got to play in The Batman universe that it would be better for both the characters, the movies, and the whole enchilada?
Just confused.

Just confused. You would sure think so wouldnt ya Unfortunately when it comes to DC properties, their licencing deals make very little sense and often greatly defy reason and logic (and in many cases simple common sense lol). Their deals moreso than most, seam to be more heavily focussed on absolute "exclusivity". And they tend to "disect" everything to such an extreme that hardly anybody really gets "rights" to anything. Very confusing and very frustrating and IMO very very counter productive to their ultimate goals.

It is so sad that the Scarecrow is still off limit - just like Harvey Dent I suppose. But since the Scarecrow iis my favorite meanie in the Batman mythology I'm excited to see that writers are already salivating at the very thought of introducing Dr Jonathan Crane and writing good stories around him. I just hope that when he'll be introduced, they'll revise the dumb look my icon has and take a more sinister Batman Begins approach ! Now who's your daddy ? It's the Scarecrow !

I don't think Two-face would be off limits due to the bat-embargo, hes not in anything else. I think they just havent put him in yet, although you would think he'd be one of the first villains to appear.

Rather, they just choose not to include him. The way I see it, they are going to include Black Mask. There really isn't that much of a difference in the two except that Two Face has that coin as a weakness.

Yes, it seemed like a substitution. I personally would be happy with either one, but Two-Face comes with an origin that we are all familiar with.

I like the way this season is going. The more I hear the more I like. I wish Bat villians such as Scarecrow, Two-Face, and Ra's Al Ghul would appear. So is their also an embargo on ra's as well. I just don't understand the embargo, I mean Batman Begins is already out. They should let them use Scarecrow. I cannot wait to see this new villian Rumor. I always get excited in seeing new villians and new villian designs. Seeing Hugo back this season is sweet as well !

In the end, I hope some WB guys are reading this. If they are, they'll understand that with the Scarecrow's depiction in Batman Begins, they created a new star ennemy of Batman. Sure, Joker and Penguin are the two classics, the second one mostly because of the old 60's serie. Catwoman was more or less reborn with Michelle's Pfeiffe breathtaking and unparralleled incarnation of Catwoman. And finally, The Riddler owes much of his public's acknowledgment to both the 60's serie and J. Carrey's 1995 Riddler. Chris Nolan put the Scarecrow on the map with Batman Begins and I'm truly convinced that C. Murphy's personnage stole the show away from Ra's... How many threads do you find on the net about fan wanting to see more of the Scarecrow in the Dark Knight ? How many of Ra's... do the count -it's an overwhelming proof.
And now the Scarecrow's fans are craving for an introduction (and not only one episode) of the Scarecrow... I'd say it's even more apparent than Two-Face.
