This was by far thee best episode in The Batman seires. My partner who isnt a fan of comics, became teary eyed at The FLying Graysons demise. At the end of the show he was like "What time is the next episode?" I think they just got a new fan!

Tony Zucco: Our family has been divided, I think we should return the favor.
We have only gone through half the episode so far but my mother has cried through the whole episode and I was actually feeling very grieved in my heart seeing Dick up there by himself.
Mark was flawless. He was amazing as Zucco. His voice is legendary to say the least. Another 10 minutes have gone by and it only gets better.
The show truly has matured.
We get a glimpse of Rupert at the Ice Club which is cool. We actually get a club in TB!!!
Batman is out for Dick's revenge and he is truly menacing. His voice has really become something that may become legendary.
Okay the episode has just finished..
Wow....
The script was amazing! It could in fact exceed many and MANY B:TAS and TNBA episodes in my min.
Robin has been born. This is crazy. It can't be rated in 10s. It far exceeds that number.
Major major kudos to all TB crew and cast! Bravo for bringing in Robin and bringing him in right!!!
Again thank ou Mr. Conroy and Hamill. Mr. Hamill, this is truly another great voice you have given birth to! I loved it!!!

Wow. This show has really matured from the first 3 seasons. This was AWESOME! Hamill and Conroy were great in their roles. Batman's new design is great as well when seen in movement. And Dick is great as well. And to tell the truth, I almost cried when they fell to their deaths. Okay, I don't know if I'm the only one who saw it, but I think I saw Rupert Thorn in that club. Anyone else see that? This is the start of a darker, more mature, and great season of the Batman. RATING: Not a 10, but way WAY higher than that. I can't wait for Team Penguin next week. I wonder how Batgirl's going to handle Robin. We also see the return of Croc, Firefly, Ragdoll, and of course, BANE. *And Kat, so you know, Riddler's hour glass is just fine. Just get some glue and it's good as new.

I hope there are re-runs and good weather... [/shadow]

WOW!!!!! all i can say is it was awesome! To start from the begening i was a litle disapointed at the lack of new animation and new theme song. They only put in two clips of robin and no new villain animation, But its only the theme song. Everything else was perfect. I really like batman's new look and robin is way better than in BTAS, Tony Zucco had an awesome voice as well as the Graysons, im still realing from it all. I wish we had gotten a "next week on The Batman" and see some clips fom Team Penguin... CANT WAIT TO SEE BATGIRL AND ROBIN TOGEATHER!!!

Oh, and I almost forgot. Batman's voice sounds really darker when he's interrogating someone. It really puts more fear into them. The only thing that really put be off was their was no new theme song and the only thing new was Robin jumping through that R. And that final sequence with all of them on the rooftop. I was hoping for a new one since it was a darker season.

And also that fiunal sequence didnt transpose well into the theme song. It just didnt go along with the ending. The ending of the song has a little staccato but the new ending was just a close-up for about 2 seconds.

I was hoping to see Harley and the Everywhere man in action, maybe a glimpse of Rumor or MArtian Manhunter. They could still change it, maybe they didnt want to release some animation too early.

I woke up to late today & only caught the ending. Which I have to say, I loved. Evan is perfect for Robin. Rino's voice is more mature, the square jawed Batman looks amazing in animation. Mark Hammil was flawless as Zucco. Thanks for the review Blinker. Was there a new theme song or was it still the S2 song?

BEST EPISODE EVER! The very first episode I've seen wherein the entire cast and crew all got up and "Rang the Bell" as Bruce Timm and Co. would say. Other than a couple bits of dialog here and there that weren't 100%, this was a near perfect episode. But thats me just nitpicking. Really no unforgivable flaws in this one.

Still the S3 song sadly. Why does everyone call it S2? What does that stand for?

Still the S3 song sadly. Why does everyone call it S2? What does that stand for? I think it's because S1 and S2 were made at the same time, they could be S1 entirely, and S3 would be S2 since it started in September like S1 die. I don't even think I understood a word I just said.

Holly and I saw it this morning. The script was great..the voice acting from Rino was far more serious and I really enjoyed Robin. Nothing was campy...nothing was really questionable at all. This was a fabulous episode.
It is sad to me how much they have to dance around violence on tv these days...but Brandon and the storyboard crew did a really nice job of conveying all that they could.
I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season, this was a great start.
10 out of 10

I was really surprised by the violence in this episode too. The death episode, while not showing dead bodies or any sound, was really sad. That moment right before they fell i thought was a little mature for kids. But my four year-old brother didnt seem bothered, kids these days...

I didn't think they could get a Robin origin as good as Robin's Reckoning, but they did. Batman's design is much better. Batman's voice is much better. Mark Hamill should voice every villain in the show. I couldn't even tell it was Hamill had I not seen it here. When John Grayson was fighting Zucco's crew, I was imagining he was Batman. It was a little weird to hear Conroy laughing in this episode. I don't know I've ever heard him really laugh. The death scene was adequate and it did work. I liked the popcorn with the bolts in it. Zucco's family and the circus seemed a bit odd, but it worked rather well in the episode. Cheers to the Rupert Thorne cameo. I wonder if he will make another appearance in the show. At first I was a little leary of Robin's voice, but as the show progressed, I realized that it fits perfectly.
Did anyone else notice that Robin does have a slight bit of pixie boots? I hope Kat gets a screen shot of that one.
As far as the theme song, was anyone expecting a new one? I think Matt would have told us if there would have been a new one seeing as he did for when they changed it last season. As far as not getting any new clips except for two, it did the most important part of adding Robin in. Nothing else matters for an opening.

Let's just be glad he has pants on. I was really hoping for a new theme song, but at least they added Robin, even if it was for only two scenes. You know the best part about this Dick Grayson? He's actually a little kid. And I like that he doesn't call Alfred "Al" like in Forever and & Robin, that was a little annoying. And I really hope they don't do a "Holy *blank* Batman" moment.

[shadow=green,left,300] Okay from what I did see I have to say that I give the episode a 10 out of 10 Although I didn't see the death scene I'm okay, I just hope to catch it later. My favorite scene definately has to be the fight near the ending, I loved it when Hamill said, "I missed..." I thought Batman was in for it now lol. My screencaps are still bad but at least I got to see somewhat of the episode, I hope for re-runs and good weather. I like Robin's design and I couldn't help but let a tear fall when I saw that portrait of his parent's on the wall. I know what it feels like to lose a loved one and it definately kills you to see pictures like that. I couldn't help but laugh when Dick's dad thought up the name, the flying squirel lol! That scene where his mother states him representing a Robin brought a tear to my eye, it was a great episode. I also got to see a clip of Robin beating up Penguin lol, Killer Moth looks good but man was that funny seeing Penguin get punched by Robin alot lol. I hope the CW will improve and I will not put up with the weatherman interrupting (I mean I know it's thunder storms and stuff but do it on a commercial!) Overall it was a great episode, not my favorite but great nonetheless. [/shadow]

We should hope not All Star.
I liked the subtle pixie boots.
One thing though, where did Dick get the cape? Did I miss that part? The mask wasn't explained either, but that one seems like it could have been from a Halloween costume. Or maybe it was in the batcave. Maybe Bruce left a cape and mask in their because he secretly wanted him to be his partner in crimefighting. Afterall, it didn't take much convincing for Batman to let Dick join in at the end.

Not seeing their death was also the same for BTAS. The whole point is if the mark is hit when it happened. And in both shows, they did. And while I agree Batman taking in Dick so quick, I believe it was because since Dick is like Bruce, he would go out anyway even if Batman said no. So that would be the reason why Robin was accepted right then and there.

I thought it was a solid ep, I still don't like the animation. I think that, since I am a Batman fan, I'll watch the big eps, like the ones where a new villain is introduced or someone does a guest voice. I'm looking forward to the one with Martian Manhunter. I forgot that Mark Hamill was doing the voice of Zucco, it didn't sound like him at all! Question: In BTAS, wasn't the guy's name Tony Marin?

Again, as I told everyone, WB is now CW. For some, like me, the original channel showed paid programing while UPN had it on with Legion of Super-Heroes.

I posted this earlier on the General thread because this thread didn't exist yet -
WOW. I thought it was fantastic. A great version of Robin' origin, very well done. Batman's scenes searching for Zucco, especially at the Icepick Club, were awesome. The depictions of John and Mary were also top notch; I like how the writers didn't rush through their characterizations. While it lacked the depth and development of the BTAS two-parter "Robin's Reckoning" it was still a great piece of work!
A+

Darker episode, very mature, I loved the writing in this episode. I almost teared up during the drop of Dick's parents. I'm surprised they fit everything into every episode. Good pace and it contained like all the elements of any Robin origin. Also I'm at odds to where he finished up his costuem My favorite sequence was the Batman in the club scene. TOTAL COOLNESS. So Dark. I like the newer mature voice from Rino. "His parents were the family that boy had." - Alfred I think its suppose to be "His parents were all the family that boy had."
