Brought to you buy Comics Continuum... Miguel Ferrer, who is starring in NBC's new Bionic Woman series, is providing the voice of Sinestro in the upcoming season of Kids' WB!'s The Batman. Ferrer is coming off a six-year stint on Crossing Jordan, and his dozens of credits include the never-aired Justice League of America pilot. In Bionic Woman, he is playing Jonas. Sinestro will be squaring off with Green Lantern, who is Hal Jordan in The Batman. Sinestro is one of many new and returning villains for the fifth season of The Batman. "The Superman/Batman two-part openerhas more villains that I can hold in my brain," producer Alan Burnett said. "You'll see Clayface, Black Mask, Bane, Mr. Freeze, Metallo, Lex Luthor, Mercy and Poison Ivy. It's a villain smorgasbord." Other returning villains include Joker, Penguin, Harley Quinn, Ventriloquist/Scarface and Hugo Strange. Among the new villains are Phosphorous, in a episode written by The Batman veteran Joseph Kuhr, and The Wraith, a rather obscure villain from the 1980s. "He was in one issue, but it was a heck of an issue," Burnett said. "The was the anti-Batman. He supported the crooks like Batman supported the good people." I'm looking forward to seeing this Wraith villain; I'll have to try and check out the issue he was featured in. As for all the villains in just the first two episodes, rather small roles or not, it seems like the season is starting off with it's two part finale instead of the end. What's wrong with starting off with a bang, though?

I'm not sure how I feel about that. And hey, Vertigo's going to be on.

Interesting; I'll now also be looking forward to the Phosphorus episode.
I did finally see the last half of The Joining and love the ending; I'm all ready for this new season next week!

This makes me look forward to next weekend even more. Gonna love all the villians. But I myself am not that keen on Firefly becoming Phosphorous. I was always hoping for Firefly/Gearhead team up.

Anyway, The rest of the info is really interesting, and it looks like Season five will be in a widescreen format, judging by all the pics. I'm hoping it is!

was there a detective comics issue with DR, phosphorus? almost like the one bad guy in batman beyond . His name is "Blight". I've read that he was inspired by Phosporus.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Phosphorus"Doctor Phosphorus" (aka Dr. Alex Sartorius) dates back to Detective Comics #469 in 1977. He is radioactive and has the appearance of a glowing see-through silhouette with his skeleton visible inside. This was largely the basis of Blight in Batman Beyond, although they changed his origin and alter ego. "Phosphorus" in Season 5 seems to have borrowed the name and concept of Dr. Phosphorus, but has graphted it onto the existing Firefly character and altered the Phosphorus look. Chris
