I voted for Return of the Joker. It shows a really great flashback of Joker's "death" and Tim's last adventure.

Phantasm is such a great Batman film. Definitely my favorite animated one, ROTJ is a very close second for me.

My favorite is BB:ROTJ Followed by Mask of Phantasm, followed by Mystery of the Batwoman. I love ROTJ because it's dark, and gritty(I have the unrated version), same for Phantasm, and because I love the story. I also really like the story in Mystery of the Batwoman. I think the payoff is great

whats the difference b/w ROTJ unrated and ROTJ?? i have the unrated but i dont see anything really bad, or maybe its just me In the edited version, Joker dies by electrocution in the flahback, but it's not shown at all. As you know, in the uncut, Tim shoots him and he collapses, clutching his chest, saying, :That's not funny...". That's the main difference, but there are more minor things like bleeding. Still, the flashback is the most different part. I like the uncut way better; Joker's original death is more straightforward, more grotesque and chilling.

Over this weekend Ive watched pretty much all my animated films... I gotta say, MOTP is still the jewel in the DCAU Bat-crown! ROTJ still kicks much booty too. I think it's making a strong play for my second place ranking! While MOTBW is not an alltogether bad or unwelcome addition, it easily ranks an the bottom by comparison IMO.

For me, it's Mask of the Phantasm...
This line still freaks me out..."Chuckie Sals (? can't remember how to spell it)...YOUR ANGEL OF DEATH AWAITS... "
...Mark Hamil's Joker on the big screen...
...Bruce in a black outfit with a ski-mask before he becomes the Batman, leaping from a roof-top screaming (I vividly remember this line as well)..."ON YOUR STOMACHS! ARMS SPREAD! "...
...The framing of Batman, the closest that we can get to watching Frank Miller's Year One: Part 3-4, where Batman's in a warehouse and being pursued by the GCPD...
...The oval-less symbol, one of the few instances that it was shown on the original B:TAS...
...The movie poster itself...
I just watched Return of the Joker (which, strangely enough, has the initials RotJ, the same as Return of the Jedi, starring Mark Hamill...Coincidence, or Buddy Lee?) recently, and, while I loved the un-cut version, the MotP has the original animation from B:TAS that I love...Both are great, but, IMO, I'd go with Mask of the Phantasm...

Mask of The Phantasm was awesome. I mean I saw it after it went to video. Never saw in theatres. But it had the same production value as the Batman films at the time. Shirley Walker's haunting ominous score for opening scene was amazing. & By the way was my fav. Bat music. But the entire thing was so well done. I love the scene where The Joker kills God i forgot his name. But the Lawyer guy. Just the presentation is enough to get it recognized. I give Mask Of The Phantasm a 10/10
