I remember seeing "Hi Diddle Riddle" and "Smack In The Middle" the nights they first aired in January 1966. I was immediately taken with the series, and was struck by what happened with Molly (which is why she is on my avatar).

The show was my introduction to myself - it really was the first thing I can remember being passionate about in my life that did NOT come directly from my parents. As an 8 year-old I loved movies, cartoons, sports, music - but these all were introduced to me by my parents. The Batman TV show was something I discovered on my own, and I really was the only one in my family that liked it. I took it seriously - talk about your appointment TV, this was life-and-death for me. remember the scenes in "Beware the Gray Ghost" from BTAS that showed the young Bruce, with hat and cape and Gray Ghost toy in hand, glued to the set for the latest adventures of his hero? That was me, 40 years ago, to a T. Those early years are full of memories for me, and I love re-living them through the great hobby we all share now. ;D
