It is my unfortunate job to inform you all that Alex Toth, the great designer behind the Superfriends cartoon, passed away on May 27th. Thank you for all the years of amazing and entertaining art Alex! The fans will remember you always. Toth's son Eric posted this on the TothFans.com forum Hello. I am Alex's oldest son Eric. I meant to be the one to let everyone know that my father did pass away this morning drawing/writing at his table. I do not have any further details other than I will forward an address for those interested in sending cards. We will arrange something appropriate at or around the convention this summer in San Diego. As John shared, all of your cards and letters of the recent past were very much appreciated by my father. Only in these last years did he begin to understand and accept the fact that his work had touched so many people's lives. In time, more information will follow.
Thank you. Eric and family.

Mr. Toth, you are a continuing inspiration to people like me all over the world. You had the courage and courtesy to lay the path, we can but follow in your wake. Your innovations in the media of comics and animation design will live forever in the minds of us all.
Thank you, sir.

I am also sorry to hear of Mr. Toth's passing. I remember watching Jonny Quest when it first aired on ABC back in 1964-65, and admired his art work. He will definitely be missed!

I really love The Superfriends! When we were little kids my sister & I used to put our fists together & say, "Wondertwin powers, activate!". Before reading this post I had heard the news in another website. It kind of saddened me. When I was a little kid I went to a comic con in 1976 / 1977 & met Alex Toth. He was really surprised that I was so familuar with his artwork. I even asked him about what it was like working on some very vintage comics. He was really nice to me & gave me his autograph. I'll always cherish that memory.
God Bless your family. Thanx, Tommy
