It's been a while since I've posted, but I thought I'd share the latest news. According to www.tvshowsondvd.com. we may be seeing the possible DVD release of 2 Filmation versions of the DC Heroes. The New Adventures of Superman 1966 The New Adventures of Batman 1977. The source came from somebody who also made unofficial announcements about the classic Space Ghost and Birdman cartoons being released on DVD. This is not much, but a possible start. We also need to keep in mind that this is an unofficial announcement and I will take it with a grain of salt until WB makes the official announcement. But it will be my dream come true and a part of my Holy Grail if the New Adventures of Batman gets a DVD release. And hopefully, maybe this could eventually lead to releases of other favorites like the 1968 Batman series as well as Aquaman and the DC Heroes. Anyway, I thought I'd pass this news along. Cheers.

This is probably my least favorite batman series. I could barely stand batmite and hate the fact that they dropped alfred from the show for the annoying character. But still im a complete mark and batman freak that ill get it. Might even enjoy it some.
Hopefully this will open the door to releasing the 1968 series. That show I like. I have the Superpowers video. Also hopefully this means they are gonna release the rest of the filmation shows.

Great News, let's hope they actually do it !
The 77 series was alright, I didn't really enjoy Batmite either, overall dumb character, but I guess they needed that for the really little kids back in the day for comic relief. The one character/villian I HATED was that super fat, candy obssesed guy, whose name slips my mind right now... Hated Him! ! !
I think Robin was pretty cool
Adam & Burt voiced Batman & Robin right?

I understand that there are fans that despise this show. For anything, it would be because of BatMite and I agree with that Sweet Tooth was indeed the worst villain. That was the worst episode. And it sucked that the fist fighting techniques were replaced by Bat Acrobatics and BatGadgets and we can thank the censors and the Broadcast Standards and Practices for that, but come on!! We had the voices of Adam West and Burt Ward!! That should give this series some value. Plus the animation style was better than the 1968 series. I respect the opinions of those who do not like this series. At the same time, try to understand my passion for it. This series was my first official expsure to the Batman Universe and the birth of my Comic Book and Super Hero Geekdom. For all of us, I guess it depends on where you got started, whether it's the comics, the media, animation, collectibles, whatever it may be. BTW, it is now official, The New Adventures of Batman IS coming to DVD in June. I'll make a new post. Cheers.

Thank You! And that was his name Sweet Tooth, how lame was he? He and Batmite go hand and hand...
But like you I really enjoyed the animation, and with Adam & Burt providing the voices you really can't go wrong

You know what's funny Techno Bat? Filmation dreamed up new villains for this piece. They did great with the Moon Man and Electro, but their two worst were Sweet Tooth, a villain better suited for Plastic Man and Professor Bubbles, who was better suited for Aquaman. Cheers.

I cannot wait to get this dvd. I enjoyed watching them as a youngster. I have them now on vhs. I have to agree characters like Sweet Tooth and Professor Bubbles were lame, but I liked Moon Man, Electro, and Chameleon. Not much of a Batmite fan either. My favorate villian on that show had to be Clayface/ Matt Hagen.

That is one thing I never get about creators that want to create new villians, they need there touch on such a great character like Batman, who in my eyes has the greatest rogue's gallery in all of comics, and that is what the people of the 77 series should have done, but instead they bring in Sweet Tooth & Professor Bubbles? And I totally agree with you, those guys should have been used for Plasticman & Aquaman LoL...

The 1968 series is even guilty of doing this. Only not as many times. Sweet Tooth was the worst in the 1977 series, but in 1968, they created a similar villain called Simon the Pieman. Just what Batman needs in his animated shows. Food junkies who use junk food as their weapons. Cheers.

I will be very glad to get the DVD when it comes out. Also, it seems the 1967 Batfink cartoon will be released on DVD shortly. Now, if we can see the 1966 series released …
