Here's my WAY TOO LONG bit of self-indulgent explanation: --------------------------------------- I'm 24 years of age. Live in Omaha, NE. I have 2 cats, 1 Turtle, 2 Frogs. I've been married for 5 years to my beautiful wife Holly. We have a 19 month old son named Sebastian (Baz), and a newborn daughter named Anastasia (Anya). They're my whole world! I've been collecting Batman since 1997, though my interest in Bats goes all the way back to watching the 60s show re-re-runs when I was 3. My non-Batman interests include:Abnormal Psychology Philosophy History Art & Music ----------------------- I'm somewhat of a 'Ripperologist', or one that delves way too deep into knowlege about Jack The Ripper. I'm also enthralled with Rasputin, Vlad the Impaler, and many other historic psychopaths. I suppose my interest in Batman villiany can be tied to this. I've read the works of Nietzsche heavily. He's by far my favorite philosopher, though I do have a working knowlege of other philsophy as well. I love music..mostly electronica/techo. I used to enjoy clubbing in Chicago back in my non-parent days...and hope to again in the future... A few bands I enjoy are: Lords of Acid, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Atari Teenage Riot. I also dig 80s music...(no rock ballads PLEASE!) Only the cheesey stuff, like Cyndi Lauper. My favorite films include:Fight Club Boondock Saints ----------------------- I had a brief stint in the Navy, which sucked! I joined when I first married my wife (long story)...well, I promptly exited, as I found it wasn't for me! I took what is known as the ASVAB test, and they wanted me to do Nuclear Science......and I said BAH to that .....I wanted to be a Ninja! ............Ninja spots were all full. Anyhow...how's that for blah blah blah!

pic11.picturetrail.com/VOL392/1978846/3825699/47096831.jpg[/img] FlaBat It all started back in 1960. President Kennedy was elected, and the following month I was born. Life as we know it has not been the same since. My nickname is Cully and even though I thought I would out grow it, I still use it today. If you call me by my legal name you are either a doctor, one of my creditors or in law enforcement. What I Do In 1984, after working at mostly entry-level positions I started working in the computer industry at a small retail computer store. The computer industry would become my career as I went on to work at different types of companies and different positions within the industry at different companies. I worked for retail stores, a software publisher, a clone computer builder, a national distributor, a local exporter and corporate resellers. I worked in both sales and purchasing. The computer industry and technology companies in general took a beating in the late 90’s and in 2001 I returned to the automotive dealership industry, having worked at a Ford dealer back in the mid 80’s. I used my sales, training and computer skills to work in the Internet side of the car business as computers and the Internet were becoming more and more important to the automotive retail sales industry. In March of 2004 I went to work for a large mail order computer seller. It’s a boring Call Center Inbound Sales and customer service work, but it pays the bills. If you need computer equipment, I might be able to save you some bucks. My Computers My first computer was a Commodore 64. I fixed it up with a Tape drive and two Commodore 1541 Floppy Disk drives. I had a Commodore 1702 Color Monitor and a Commodore 1561 Dot Matrix Printer, which were state of the art for the home computer in the early 80's. A couple of years later a Commodore Amiga 1000 and Commodore 1084 Monitor replaced my old C-64. An Amiga 2000 replaced the 1000 and in 1992 and an Amiga 2000HD would follow after Hurricane Andrew. My first PC was an Acer Acros 7390 with a Pentium 100 CPU. It served me well until May of 2000 when it was replaced with a Compaq Presario 7998 (a computer I love to hate). A Canon BJC-620 Color Bubble Jet Printer, Umax Astra 1200S Scanner and Olympus C-3030 Zoom Digital Camera round out my other high tech toys. Lights, Camera… Extras In 1987, seeking a new adventure, I took a break from "real work" and tried "reel work". I tried to break into TV and the Movies that were being filmed in South Florida. However, with no formal training and no substantial opportunities, I was only able to get work as an "extra" in movies that were shot on location locally. My "acting credits" include. "Mercy Or Murder", (a TV Movie starring Robert Young), A Local Toyota Commercial, and the feature films "Caddyshack 2", "Police Academy 5", "The Unholy" and "Screwball Hotel". Although calling "Screwball Hotel" a feature film is a stretch, I think it only aired on Cable TV. pic11.picturetrail.com/VOL392/1978846/3825699/47133017.jpg[/img] He Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins… … and I have a good head start! I collect Action Figures and other related Toys. I started about 1990 with four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and a couple of Batman figures. The collection today is mostly BATMAN and Star Trek Action Figures with G.I. Joe, Aliens, Predator, Spawn, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Toy Story and several others included. A few Star Wars, and some other unique figures round out the collection. Most of the collection was on display in my computer room at home until a major home renovation in early 2003 led to most of it being put away until I have the time and money to completely renovate the room. I still have one of the two G.I. Joe's I had as a kid in my collection. In fourteen years the collection has blossomed from a handful of figures in 1990 to just over 1400 (at this writing) in 2004. Expansion has slowed recently, a young son, and other monetary considerations helped curb the rapid growth the collection saw in the mid 90's. Still it grows a little every year, especially in December with my Birthday and Christmas. I also collect 1:18 scale die cast cars. Most of the cars my collection are Fords of various years and models. Ford is my favorite car manufacturer, and I have owned several Fords, mostly Mustangs over the years. I have several die cast NASCAR Winston Cup Stock Cars including a few Thunderbird's and Taurus's of driver Rusty Wallace who is one of my favorite drivers. I have a stable of Mustangs including some Shelbys and a few F-Series pickup trucks. My collection is rounded out with models of some exotics like Lamborghini's and concept cars like the Mustang III and Ford GT 90. Click Here for more of my Collectionf2.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/soflabat/lst?.dir=/Computer+Room&.order=&.view=l&.src=bc&.done=http%3a//f2.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/ I’m BATMAN! "Batman" was one of my favorite TV programs in the mid Sixties, when I was a kid. In the late 80’s and early 90's I collected Batman comic books before turning to collecting action figures. In 1990 I got my first "Batman" costume (as an adult anyway) and wore it a few times. Later I would add a new "Batman and Robin" style bat suit to my collection in 1997 and I also created a "Batman Beyond" style suit in 2000. I even once wore the bat suit on client calls as I Trick or Treated at my corporate customers passing out candy. Here I am as Batman at the office in 1997. pic11.picturetrail.com/VOL392/1978846/3825699/47096841.jpg[/img]When I first wore the bat suit in 1990 it was on Halloween and I went to Coconut Grove with some friends, one of them a Police Officer who worked the streets we were on. Many people including gang members walking the streets liked the costume. My friend the policeman said "...you're a hit with the gangs..." as we wandered the streets in costumes. I have been Batman or Batman Beyond at a few of my son’s Daycare Halloween parties and I was known as "Batman" by many of the teachers at his school. When my son, first went Trick or Treating in 1998, we were both Batman. Batman and Son It’s Only Rock and Roll My favorite kind of music could be described as mainly Classic Rock. Some of my favorite bands are AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Blues Brothers, Cheap Trick, The Eagles, Metalica, Pink Floyd, Queen, Van Halen and ZZ Top. I also like old British bands like The Beatles, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones and The Who. I consider myself to be a Parrot Head and love Jimmy Buffett. I even have an autographed CD and a book of his. I do like some new artists like Kid Rock, Green Day and The Offspring but I can't stand Hip Hop, Rap or any of the "teen boy bands" and "teen girl singers" that are everywhere these days or anyone on American Idol That Other Monitor I Stare At Sometimes Some of my all time favorite TV Shows past and present are Batman in all his incarnations, Fawlty Towers, Friends, JAG, Lost in Space, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Seinfeld, Star Trek, Star Trek The Next Generation, Survivor, The Apprentice, The Wild Wild West and West Wing. My favorite movies tend to be sci-fi or action films. I also like some comedies as well as drama and suspense type movies too, but no "chick flicks" or horror movies. Some of my favorite Movies are Ace Ventura Pet Detective, Alien, Aliens, the four Batman films so far, the Die Hard, Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park series, Liar Liar, Monty Python and The Holy Grail, Predator, Raising Arizona, the original Star Wars trilogy, True Lies, The Blues Brothers, The Fugitive, The Hunt for Red October, The Terminator series, Toy Story, and all the other Pixar made movies. These are some of the movies I never get tired of watching. Let The Games Begin Monopoly is by far my favorite game. I have few different collector versions. If you have party where there’s drinking I highly suggest Crainium. While you don’t have to drink to play the game, it sure adds to the fun. I also like playing video games and Batman Rise Of Sin Tzu is one of my favorites. I like Roller Coasters and I have ridden quite a few at Disney World, MGM Studios, Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm and Busch Gardens. While I’ve ridden Batman The Ride at Six Flags, I thought Riddler’s Revenge also at Six Flags was better. pic11.picturetrail.com/VOL392/1978846/3825699/47133004.jpg[/img] Well That’s My Story And I’m Sticking To It.

FANTASTIC! Funny thing is the focal points in some of the pictures. My eye went to Dilbert on the floor and Space Ghost on the wall-go figure! Oh yeah and I love the Batman (FAO exclusive?) 12" 3 pack. Always regretted not picking that up when it came out but it was soo $$$$. I've got a question, is your collection kid and visitor friendly. It looks lke the kind of room where people can come by and just pick things up and check 'em out. My impression is that it is a very "warm" room. great stuff!

That's me. Real name is Jeff. 31 yrs old, live in Omaha NE. Married for 1.5 years now (together for 5). 4 kids - one on the way. 1 girl, 3 boys (baby will be a boy also - lucky me!) I've always collected toys - started out with Megos, moved onto Star Wars, MOTU, Battle Star Galactica, and Indiana Jones. I quit collecting and playing with toys as I got more involved in team sports - soccer and wrestling. Went to college in Lincoln NE, and decided I would rather work and party, instead of going to class. Shortly after I quit school, I owned a comic store - that's when the collecting bug bit me again and I've been hooked ever since. I collect assorted Bat items, Jumbo robots (Shogun Warriors), Gundam and of course, minimates. Fav band would be the Police. My musical tastes are all over the board - from the Police, to Queen, to DMB, to Cypress Hill, Eminem, Godsmack, Faith No More, Violent Femmes, and Cherry Poppin Daddies. Favorite book - Battle Royale. I'm not going to tell you about it - just check it out if you get the chance. There is a manga adaptation and a movie (in Japan only so far) out there also if you prefer. Movies - a few that I would watch any time - The Crow, Usual Suspects, Princess Bride, Enter the Dragon, Rush Hour 1 & 2. That's about it for now - if I can find some pics from our trip to Metropolis last year, I might post those. The kids were pretty excited to pose with Batman and Robin, and by the Superman statue in the town square. I got to pose by the Daily Planet. For a DC geek like me, it was a fun trip. (Tourist trap, but fun trip none the less.)

What are you getting done? An armband with the batlogo as a centerpiece surrounded by a tribal type flame going around the arm, the final art has the logo looking like a old stone carving and the flames will be etched to match, it looks great on paper.

Great Manbat,can't wait to see it. I like your philosophies and sayings.I have 2 that i live by.I hope none of them get censored: 1: That which does not kill us only makes us stronger. 2: Don't let the bastards wear you down. My Wifes favourite is: You call me a b#%ch like it's a bad thing! Too True, your wife saying reminds me of something my wife said. She had taking zoloft for a few months after her father passed away, I had commented that it must not be working well because she was still B#%chy She assured me it was working, because she no longer felt guilty from it. New add campaign for Zoloft " B#%ch without the guilt!"

[shadow=red,left,300]OK, here we go...
Personal Info Name: Shawn Age: 27 Current Residence: Lenexa, KS Place of Birth: San Antonio, TX Occupation: Assistant Vice-President with local bank. Marital status: Married with step-daughter and son on the way September '04.
Interests/Hobbies -Favorite Comics characters: Batman and.....ahem....(whispers)...superman.....Sorry Jayne ;D. Also a fan of Hal Jordan's GL. I have a strong dislike of just about anything Marvel. -Favorite Movies: Batman (1989), Superman 1 & 2, Field of Dreams, Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump (no lie), and remember the Titans among others. -Favorite Music: No one "favorite". I listen to everything EXCEPT country....(REALLY dislike country). -Favorite TV: Not much of a TV watcher, however always make time for any BAT-show, Smallville, and at least one hour of ESPN a night. -Favorite time killer: PS2 sports games -Favorite Sports/teams: Played baseball all my life. (Not to sound cliche', but I was actually scouted quite a bit until I was involved in a car accident that broke several ribs and left me with lifelong back problems.) Anywhoo my favorite sport is baseball, altough I truly love football and basketball as well. My favorite teams in no particular order are....the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, & Texas A&M Aggies.
Collecting history: I had been collecting Bat-Stuff(and Superman stuff, too) since regularly since 1995. In 2000, I lost everything in my collection, as well as almost every other possession in a fire at my family's home in Texas. I was so devasted that I did not have it in me to restart my collection until late 2002. 18+ months and BIG $$$ later, I am finally getting my collection back where it needs to be.
Other notables -I have been married since October of last year. My wife is the most wonderful woman in the universe. She is always incredibly patient with me, and supportive of every choice I make. She has given me a beautiful 7-year old step-daughter that I love as my own, and is giving me a son!! -I work in banking and serve as an Assistant Vice-President/ Banking Center Manager. It's all I have done since graduating college in 1998 and I love it!! -I donate one half day a week to under-privilged school children, where I do anything from tutor to play catch. All the kids call me "SuperBatman" because of the decals on my car .
Well, that is really it. I am glad to finally properly introduce myself to the LoG community!!

Yes, it’s kid friendly and there are certain items that I actually play with like the R/C vehicles and stuff. Touching some things was always tricky as a domino effect could happen from time to time take out most of a shelf. Also falling figures will start the same thing, as some figures have to be propped up by another to stand. Every once in awhile one of the weapons would fire and a projectile would go flying across the room. I once shot myself when I moved one of the GI Joes. I work in a Dilbert environment and love the comic strip. Space Ghost (not the Coast to Coast version) was my favorite cartoon when I was kid. Thanks
