I cant figure out why people just dont join up. The same things occurs over at MegoCentral where on any given day we have tons of guests. I will admit to being a lurker in the past but in very small doses. These days I keep my circle very small between the LOG, MC, and a Monster and Micronaut site. Hey, what can I say, I am a simple kinda guy! ;D

I think that for some people, it takes time to get a feel for the board. They don't want to just jump in and join - that's another name and password to remember. Eventually, they'll join. If not, it's their loss.

maybe they dont have a high enough level of interest to join ,they may only be here for action figure news or something else specific that they feel doesnt warrant joining up.as for me I only have membership of LOG and starwars.com at the mo because I feel it would be too taxing to spread my infinite wisdom and star extinguishing genius elsewhere at this point

Guest are just that...guest. I have visited many forums without joining up...to look around. Usually they will eventually join if the site peaks their interest. I usually look around to make sure there is no flaming of individuals that want to become a part of a board.

[shadow=purple,left,300]Hmmm I dunno... I don't even remember WHY I registered at LoG to begin with...I guess because it was Batman-related... Or Faith I've joined MegoCentral out of pity ;D and because I didn't know what Mego stuff was to begin with... Total number of active forums I belong to...5 [/shadow]

[shadow=purple,left,300] In my case, I lurk around for a week or so to realize what I'm dealing with, what the general interest seems to be and what kind of people usually post online. So, in technical terminology, it's mostly a matter of familiarizing one's self to their environment.[/shadow]

LOG was the first forum i ever joined,i lurked for about 10 minutes and decided i wanted to ba a part of this. Now a year later more or less i can't live without the interaction. Tha same can be said for Megocentral, having already built a fantastic friendship with Robert i couldn't wait to be a part of that as well.Even though my Mego knowledge is somewhat lacking i learn more everyday and enjoy the good company there as well. There will always be guests, some will join eventually, some never will. Some are looking for news or links to their site and some just have nothing to say.I doubt that will ever change.

its the fact that starting a name foryourself with the registering and the avatars and the emailing to matt for permision to join its all takes too long and the registering may have errors and the passwaord and all that can be a pain in the butt.
(i used to be a guest until i read this thread 3 weeks ago and im very happy with my results its a great site.)
- oh kay lets all thank alexis for sharing with us
