This is the talkback topic on the recent issue of the Strikes comic. So start talking!
Here is my review:
REVIEW:
Two appearences in the Strikes comic and two appearences in the show, the TB version of Man-Bat, I feel, is preety neat. This version is based n the original idea of Man-Bat from BTAS as a vampire bat that would suck blood from people. But they had to change it to a fruit bat. The TB crew didn't have to change the idea for their show and while it wasn't shown, Man-Bat drinking the blood from something living has happened (though once) in the show. Looks like the comic beats the show as #23 gives Man-Bat a third appearence.
This is actually Batgirl's issue. While she is shown to be needing saving from the Dark Knight, she actually handles herself pretty well. Batman does show up (he would have to) in the middle of the book. I did love the one-lines she said in the book,
"To the Batpole! "
BATGIRL: Which way did Batman go?
BATMAN: I'm Batman.
BATGIRL: Thats what I said, Man-Bat!
And the famous line from Batman '89: "Where DID you get these wonderful toys?" These lines said by her makes them kinda cute.
We already know about Man-Bat as it is so it was obivious we wouldn't get to see Langstrom's past (unless something new) in the book. We did get some contiunity here. This issue takes place after the Season Three episode "Thunder" as Batman references the Bat Wave he gave her. The end of the book has Batman talking to Batgirl how she doesn't need more toys, she needs to listen and learn more with the good instincts she has. This is a connection to her future in Season 4 and whats in store for her once Robin appears. To make her a good crimefighter.
Overall, another good issue. Nothing new at all to read from this but it was fun and it did have things to say that connects to the next The Batman season. I'd give it a solid rating.
RATING: 7.5/10
