Batman Strikes #29 will feature the very first appearance of 'The Batman' Robin in the comics! The issue, I'm told, will be written by guest scribe and friend of LoG, J. Torres (previously seen on strikes #16 & #23) and pencilled by our pal Christopher Jones. The issue should hit newsstands in January 2007, and be solicited by DC next month. You heard it here first!

Well...ok I know the villain, but I'm not sayin' just yet. I'm sure the solicitation will tell you anyway, and if J. Torres wants to spoil you, he can. I'll just tell you its REALLY exciting (to me at least) and its more than one.
Expect Batgirl and Robin side by side fighting.
and hell, we're getting Christopher Jones drawing Robin..you KNOW thats gonna be sweet!

Um, that cover is NOT the work of Terry and I. The solicitation seems to be wrong again. I'm not sure who it's by. The proportions look a little wonky on Robin, The Kabuki Twins and The Penguin as compared to the models I was working off of, so I'm really not sure what to make of it...

Chris [shadow=green,left,300] Curses, foiled again! I thought it looked more like Dave's work or another, but alas I fell for another solicitation. Sorry about that Chris, I should have realized it wasn't your cover, I normally can tell between Dave's and yours. Of course I love them both but sometimes I tend to mistake some now and then. Lol, Penguin does look kind of like a kid haha. [/shadow]

Torres supposed to be writing this one, or am I crazy?

I spoke with Dave..this is indeed his cover! You heard it here first. Also, Dave gave us the version that is actually going to be used, rather than the early version that DC sent out..

[shadow=green,left,300] Right or wrong, your not the only crazy one Matt. I have fallen to the solicitations too, VERY cool cover Dave! I know Chris's Robin too and thought that was Dave's work but I am a sucker for solicitations lol. When Riddler comes though, I am guaranteed to know that. ;D [/shadow]

I dig the super-deformed look Dave gave to the charcters...it caught my eye, which is the biggest purpose of a cover!

[shadow=green,left,300] I agree I just noticed Batman doesn't have his cape on the cover, Penguin probably blasted it off lol. I can't wait for Robin's debut in the comics, Dave did awesome on the cover. Chris and Terry's work is always impressive, can't wait to see what J. did as well, wait J. did write this one right? ;D [/shadow]

Batman does have his cape, its just vertically up so it's a bit hard to see. The cover is still nice, like the background that was added in.

The "introduction" of Robin takes place in the season 4 premiere of the TV show, "A Matter of Family". The comic is merely another story that takes place sometime after "Team Penguin" (ep. 4.2) where Robin and Batgirl meet and everyone learns each-other's secret ID.
I hope everyone enjoys it. I had a blast drawing the Boy Wonder.
