REVIEW: After a hiatus that began last Decmeber, The Batman returns with new episodes. Well, three this month with the last two airing later. "Cash for Toys" introduces a new characer that had a creepy look to him and was considered to be based or ripped off from Toyman from the Superman series.
This is Toymaker's first appearence. For his first episode, he's actually good. The character has motivation against Bruce Wayne. This makes him the second villian for Bruce Wayne, the first being Penguin.
For this story, it made sense. It wasn't something for kids since the villian's weapons for toys like some appeared to be based on Pokemon. Bruce goes against the toy company Toymaker created because the toys were too dangerous. So he goes after Bruce because he lost everything. That's good.
Cash returns in this episode. I heard that people like him, but that ain't the case for me. Sure his one-liners were funny, well some. And his character is fitting for Bruce's Wayne's "persona", but I don't really care for him.
Speaking of which, I would understand that Gordon hired Cash to guard Wayne because for the most part he and what people think of Bruce (mentioned in "The Big Heat" and what he was in "A Dark Knight to remember) make both on the saem boy since both are "partyboys". But why him? I would rather have Yin instead of him. When will she come back?
Overall, a story that made sense, a new villian with no problems, but with a return of a character that, for me, don't care about: it still wasn't bad at all.
RATING: 7.5/10

Great episode!!! The Toymaker was allot different than I immagined, he was a bit weird with the catch phrases and all but I think he's an awesome villain. I give the episode a 8.5 out of 10. I loved the part where Cash pleaded for his life and accidently smashing that kids toy, I feel bad for the kid.

What a way to kick off new episodes! Good episode. Cash was kind of funny in this one. With smashing the kids toy and almost finding the Batcave, and calling Alfred "Freddy." There was one part in the beginning when Batman was chasing Toymaker in the Batmobile, and when he went up, I was thinking "Oh, please don't copy Batman Forever with the Batmobile driving up on the side of the building." Thank god they didn't do that and added the Batglider. Good episode, but with one problem: Where's Batgirl?
8/10

Cash Tankenson made my day. He was absolutely hilarious! Cash: I know were you were....You were out...partying without me! Toymaker was indeed not how I expected him to be. I was hoping for a less of a fun type of guy and a more serious, clever, sinister, and dark guy, but the plot matched him. He kind of disappointed me and was just an average villain. He still looked pretty cool and reminded me a lot of Numbuh 2 from Kids Next Door with those goggles things and his voice. Another good episode without Batgirl having to be in it. His voice sounded different in the preview when he says "Surprise Batman" and starts laughing (months ago). He sounded like he would be insane-like with his toys and dark so I was hoping for that. Not so too many fight scenes but a good episode. 8.5/10 for me as well. BTW anyone notice the reference to Superman as Bruce starts ripping off his jacket in the spinner? I had to go through 2 episodes of Pokemon and Viewtiful Joe Once I wake up, it's hard for me to go back to sleep

Pretty good ep. Definitely a lighter tone to this one. Nothing memorable overall but entertaining nonetheless. Some good gags.

I really liked this one too. Didn't miss Babs at all, and the return of Tankenson was OK as well. I've always enjoyed the Batman stories that seem to be self-aware of the comic-book, action figure/toy world that we (well, most of us) are all so fond of; "Beware the Gray Ghost" was always one of my fave episodes of BTAS for that reason. The evil Pokemon-ish toys were a hoot, especially since I am a dad that has tripped over his share of the little buggers in the past. One of the best of Season 3 - 9/10

I completely overslept for this one. It sounds like a good episode. I haven't seen an episode with Cash before. I don't know if I'll like him.

He's voiced by the ever so talented Patrick Warburton who also does Joe from Family Guy. He's truly a character that'll bring laughs on this show anytime!

No, that was Bill Fagerbakke, the voice of Patrick on Spongebob as well.

You may also remember him as Puddy the car mechanic in Seinfeld.

This was a good ep. The Toyman was a decent villian. Im among those who like how his beef is with Bruce and not Batman. Although I find it funny that they never once referred to him as the toyman in the ep. I dont care what anyone says, I like Tank. It would be neat if they came out with an action figure. Maybe make like an allies of the Batman wave or something. Oh and i have been thinking about why Yin wasnt his bodyguard. We have seen from earlier eps that they are now friends. So if Yin were guarding Bruce, she might not have been able to objectvivly carry out her job.

I like Tankenson too. He's hee-haw larious as Joker has said, although Tank isn't that strong he's a great guy. Riddler: " Haha! With Detective Yin out of the way no-one can stop me!" Cash: " Hands up hippie! It's Cash's time to get the spotlight! Riddler: " *sweat drop* Oh so your the pathtic excuse for a cop that people were telling me about... no matter * says to hench 'Eliminate him!'* Cash: " *screams for his grandma* Just Kidding I couldn't help it

Don't mean to drop the wrench on this one, but I didn't like it at all. I think it was lacking in substance that most of the other episodes of the series had. There seemed to be more stereotyping and cliches in this episode.
I know that the atmosphere was supposed to reflect the villian, but I never got a feeling of who was really pulling the episode. The toymaker? Cash? ...Bruce Wayne? It certainly wasn't Batman. It seems like everytime he started to do something, the scene would change. Some of it was done for effect (his work done inside the "drilltop" during the climax), but other times it focused on Bruce->Batman->Bruce, short chase scene that turns into nothing, anticlimactic struggle with the trick-or-treating robot, etc...
Ahh I dunno - maybe it just comes down to me not liking that Cash character, but if I had to describe this episode in one word I would say: "thin."

Yes I understand what you mean, as Ive said before too many scenes. I understand why you try to find the basis of the story and with all the switching sets it was kind of har dto keep on tact I guess

[glow=green,2,300]Liked it. Didn't love it... I thought Toymaker's toys were awesome, but I didn't like the Toymaker's designs... I perfered STAS's Toymaker more... But what ever this guy was cool. I loved his voice, but didn't like his hair... ;D Sorry... 7/10[/glow]

I liked the scene when Cash finds Alfred coming out of the Bat-elevator. However, something about the episode seemed like it was just a "filler". Not really sure why.
Toymaker looks to be a interesting character for this show, hopefully we'll see him again. What was with his Team Rocket hair-do?

Personally, I think we can leave the serious dark Batman to Kevin Conroy. I would like it if I wake up to see Saturday morning cartoons that are lightened up and let us have a laugh. Cash Tankensen was hilarious and I hope we see him more in this episode. I didn't really pay much attention to the Joker/Toyman/Static Shock villain as much as waiting for what Cash would say next! I like this episode for the humor and not for the action.
