The comic con exclusive I saw last December has been made (twas a last minute thing so you won't see it in any of the SDCC materials unfortunately)! This is SO cool!! I'm working on getting cost and how to purchase details right now. More to follow soon! ( And if anyone's going and wants to pick one up for me, PM me and we'll work something out!)

Thanks for the scoop Reid. I'm not sure I understand what it is though. Is it a Batman and Joker minifig 2 pack?

Thanks for the scoop Reid. I'm not sure I understand what it is though. Is it a Batman and Joker minifig 2 pack? My thoughts exactly. I don't understand the difference between this and what has come out already.

Thanks for the scoop Reid. I'm not sure I understand what it is though. Is it a Batman and Joker minifig 2 pack? That's exactly what it is. They're in a box that is made to look like it's a Batman comic book and it has a sound chip with Joker laughing.

This is the perfect exclusive in my mind. I myself could not get myself out to Comic Con, but I think its a nice deal for anyone who gets one, but I don't feel left out.

Does LEGO have any Batman stuff at SDCC. All I've seen so far is just Star War stuff and its only stuff that out now.

I don't know if I would have purchased that set for $40. It is just a Joker and Batman. For an extra $10 you can get the Batwing with the Joker Copter.

I found it to be a pit pricey as well.
There are a ton of them showing up on ebay with buy it nows over $100
Does LEGO realize that all they've done is create great scalper-fodder. I bet maybe 1/10 of those that bought the set at comic con actually wanted it for themselves!
There are better ways to get net items like this to the fans

I bet maybe 1/10 of those that bought the set at comic con actually wanted it for themselves! There are better ways to get net items like this to the fans That's part of the discussion we had back in December about this exclusive Matt. I think, from LEGO's perspective, this is one of the first true "exclusives" as we know them that they've done - yes, there have been a few sets, but beyond the Toy Fair invite, I don't think there's anything else out there like this one, so they didn't want to get stuck with a bunch of product to sell on clearance at LEGO stores. They're also ONLY doing this at SDCC - not in Chicago, so it's an even smaller run. I told them they could probably sell close to 1000 between SDCC, Chicago and online - LOG, LEGO Shop @ Home, etc. (I specifically mentioned those three outlets to make sure as many fans had access as possible) because of the cross over appeal - Batman, minifig and LEGO fans - all competing for the same exclusive. Unfortunately, it looks like my suggestions on this one fell on deaf ears. From a financial standpoint, they played it safe, which I can understand. From a fan standpoint, it sucks. I've got a couple of feelers out there to pick one or two up at cost, but there's no guarantee unfortunately. If I get one, great. If not, I'll live. ;D

I would be just happy if the LEGO guys said soemthing about the Batman line. I would at least want to know if they plan on releasing more products this year, maybe for the holidays.
But I do agree that this is really LEGO's first time at the dance. They probably should have made more and maybe a nice variant, like the Blue Batman minfig to go along with the Joker. Hopefully, LEGO will do a better job next year.

I didn't pull the right number so I couldn't buy it, they were charging $43.00 a set. Which was high, but with only 250 made I would have paid the money.
