Im not a big anime fan myself, but I can overlook the animation style so long as everything else is worthy. I expect this dtv will have something to offer every bat-fan to one degree or another.

World's Finest and Wizard have both given it good reviews. I'm sure all Batfans will be very happy and proud of this DVD, along with The Dark Knight coming out 10 days after.

I was able to get a hold of this dvd and I thought it was.... GREAT!
The animation is really crisp and smooth. You definitely cannot beat Japanese animation when it comes to detail. The backgrounds are amazing.
I love the look of Gotham City it created. Each of the stories are interwoven very well and transition to the next one quite smoothly.
My only dislikes is the usage of Kevin Conroy's voice. Sometimes his voice didn't work well with certain Batman interpretations and that the stories were too small. I would have preferred they created one WHOLE movie with one WHOLE long story in one style of animation.
But who knows... Maybe if more people like this style of animation WB will take a survey and pick which one was everyone's favorite and do a Batman animated movie on the most favorite interpretation of Batman. And iono... maybe produce HUSH in Japanese style of animation.
But I think its a must have... It'll expose a lot of people to this style of animation that everyone keeps on hating on. Which really pisses me off. I mean the great producers of your favorite cartoon series are all anime fans and draw upon them for inspiration.

Gotham Knight was "Eh" to say the least. While the first episode, if you can call it that, had a good story to it and reminiscent of a previous Batman episode from "The New Adventures" series, it's character models and animation were terrible.
The episode following that is called Cross Talk and they basically talk for 10 minutes and the last 2 minutes is a burst of action until the end.
Things begin to pick up after that though. If you can bear the first two episodes, the rest will be pretty enjoyable. By the way, these episodes aren't in chronological order, but they do relate to one another in some way. Most of the time it's a character from one episode making a cameo.

I honestly wasn't impressed.
As a Batman fan I wanted to love it, but I really just felt it lacked "umph"
The only thing I can say is that there is a lot of bleeding and Batman crawling around in sewers...

I have been sadly underwhelmed myself. Dont "hate it" and dont have huge amounts of bad or negative things to say about it Nec. Just hoped, expected and think it couldve offered so much more IMO.

Have to agree with that. Just dident leave a Big impression on me. Animation was still cool and well done, but I'll stick with the Timm stuff atm.

[shadow=red,left,300] I was a little disappointed with "Batman: Gotham Knight", myself!
The animation was fantastic, but the stories seemed lame, unrealistic, boring, and in some cases, pathetic.
The only story I liked was the last one with Deadshot! It was fun, and exciting and the story was great! But I admit I had higher hopes. With such a good cast, I thought they could do something a little more![/shadow]

I liked the last episode.. and ofcoarse I love hearing Kevin Conroy again, but like Ayenlou said, sometimes his voice didnt work.

I have to agree with what most people have said. The animation was great but that was the only thing that really impressed me. The Deadshot episode was awesome but other than that it was nothing special. Worth watching if you're a fan, however.

Honestly, I did not care for this movie. When the ads said 'six interlocking stories', I still expected one long film with Batman fighting six villains at once. But having short segments which were mainly character driven and not full of exicitment isn't my thing. I say, it's not worth buying this movie unless you are collecter and don't care how horrible it is, as long as you have it.

I liked it. I began watching the movie with no high expectation like most people and i enjoyed most of the storys. Some of them the animation was kind of annoying.

I thought Batman:Gotham Knight was terrible. Waste of Money.
The animation was amazing, but sometimes the different styles got very annoying! I also thought Kevin Conroy returning would be great! But his voice did not fit at all!
Sorry, but it his voice has aged and no longer fits the character! The only reason they brought him back was to make stupid fans happy! When they could have gotten someone else to voice Batman.
I recommend Wonder Women over this garbage!

I wouldn't say the movie was garbage, but it could have been a whole lot better. I still haven't seen Wonder Woman, though it is on my list of things to check out. I was blown away by JL: New Frontier, so I know the potential these movies have.

[shadow=red,left,300]I side with Doppelganger.
I didn't like Conroy's voice in Batman:Gotham Knight ether! It didn't fit the animation or the story. It just sounded like a Fifty year old pretending to be a Twenty year old.
And the stupid fan comment; It is very blunt, but a good point. Us fans have been known to ruin things for other people who are more casual fans.
No need to take offense! It's very blunt, but true![/shadow]

I mean look what happened to Venom in Spider-Man 3. I still think Conroy's voice can fit into any Batman though.

^Really?
To me it depends on the animation style. Conroy's voice didn't just fit the character in B:TAS, it was the character! Conroy is what made B:TAS so amazing!
But the way I see it, they could have gotten someone else to voice Batman in Gotham Knight and it would have fit the character and the story much better!
And sorry if I offended you. I am very blunt and a little rude. And I take lots of pride in that! ;D

Actually, Conroy was cast for many reasons... predominantly production needs / requirements and various project specific demands. His talent and experience in the field AS WELL AS being a fan favorite made him the optimum choice for their needs. There is also the element of cost effectiveness Etc.

Don't get me wrong I really like Conroy's voice, But look at the end result! You can not tell me his voice fits! If your a hardcore fan you might like the result, but If you just a regular fan,you would hate the end result! And why is everyone attacking me for my opinion? This is a forum, I am aloud to have an opinion. The only one who isn't attacking me is Jack! BTW Thanks for having an open mind!

BTW Thanks for having an open mind! umm, I was just trying to enlighten everyone to the fact Conroy was cast for a multitude of reasons. Not just "to make fans happy"... stupid or otherwise. Bruce Timm elaborated on this (I think on ToonZone). He explained how although Conroy may not have been the "perfect" choice for Gotham Knight, he was the "best" choice. If I may say, for a prideful "rude and blunt" individual, youre surprisingly sensitive.

[shadow=red,left,300]^I think he is trying to say he wasn't the first one to complain about Conroy's voice so why is he being bashed.
But you can take his comment in several different directions. As being sensitive or making another point or once again insulting.
Just my opinion! [/shadow]

I didn't like it. To me it's the worst DCU movie so far. The stories lacked. The Killer Croc story especially was a real mess. Conroy's definetely still got it, but the animation styles didn't suit his voice so well. It worked the best with the shootout story. I liked the first story the best and the last one's animation was the best to me.
