Man, it's a good week to be a member here! I've been looking for a nice pic of those for a while. Thanks Robert. I always thought one of the three was always a painted fig.

I remember this set, talk about making yourself feel old!Although i do remember owning the painted ones at some stage in my childhood, but like most things they vanished into those dark places that Toys go and never return from. Great memories but way out of my price range.Although they turn up pretty regualrly on Ebay loose in both painted and unpainted.

I didn't have any of those as a kid. They came in plain & painted versions. If you get the whole playset loose, you've REALLY got a piece, boxed...a toy grail. Basically they're just like army figures, but the plastic/foam material that they used for the backgroung play pieces in the 60's gets dried out and cracks/deteriorates. They made a small number of repros int the early 90's and those things go easily for 4 figures. Drew

I saw the winning bid, $US 250.00, was that item really worth that much?

I don't know if they were limited in locations. Personally, I don't think they're worth all the $$$, especially since you can't move anything on them. But I guess there aren't a lot left. That's what makes it an actual collectable as opposed to most of the stuff on ebay marked "Rare" and "Collectable". Drew
