I think it is a bit too early to form an opinion on the matter. I think his cooperation in the matter shows that the allegations are most likely blown out of proportion.

I believe in Christian Bale! If he assaulted his mother and sister, they were askin' for it! I kid! Or do I? lol.

A buddy sent me the blurb on this yesterday - I told him this was uncool, but we don't have all the facts yet. For all we know they could have been estranged and were trying to extort money from him, and he shoved them out the door.

i just really hope this isn't true. but then again.. dang,. being Batman can get to you i guess. and if i was Christian, i would be a little bit upset as well because this movie is about his character, but some one else is getting most of the attention (NOT that it's undeserved)... let's just hope this gets all sorted out. a big bump in the road this can really derail the big Batman bullet train...

we don't know if it was physical or only verbal assault.
they called the police on sunday, but the police decided not to do anything about it till tuesday morning, so he could attend the premiere on monday evening. then he went voluntarily to the police station on tuesday and was questioned for 4 hours then released on bail. he has to report back in september.

[shadow=red,left,300]Not to turn"The Legions of Gotham" into The "The Legions of Gossip" but sister dearest; Sharon Bale would say only that it was a "family matter" from an upstairs window in her home in Wimborne yesterday. Personally, they obviously want money, and I don't think there going to turn this into a bigger publicity stunt for fear of revealing there true attentions. But Good news! A spokesperson for the film's distributor, Warner Brothers, said the police inquiry would not impact the movie's international press tour, which stops next in Barcelona and Tokyo. "Everybody is continuing with business as usual,"[/shadow] Source: www.guardian.co.uk/film/2008/jul/23/christianbale.thedarkknight

My mom told me she was watching the news this morning. And they said someone from another room heard the commotion and called the police. Not Bale's mother and sister. Apparently Christians mother accused his wife of something. Which obviously would make Christian very angry. Then the news reporter said Christian has been stressed out because he was very close to Heath and he's not around to experience the movie with him. If Christian flipped out, I dont blame him.

Being someone who is involved in the criminal justice system let me weigh in on this:
Based on my interactions with officers from the U.K. I know that "Police Discretion" is not as prevalent in the U.K as it is with law enforcement in Canada and the U.S.. If evidence exists to suggest that an offense occurred in the U.K. police MUST lay a charge. In Canada and the United States police enjoy the ability to deal with the matter in alternative manners if it is warranted.
The fact that Christian Bale was interviewed and charges NOT laid in a case like this suggests to me that either no event occurred or the event was exaggerated. In assault cases with a known offender the presence of observable or purported injuries along with witness testimony is typically enough for a charge. The fact that both would have existed if this assault "had" occurred I feel charges would have been laid.
Media that I have followed up here suggests that it was a strictly verbal altercation that culminated with Bale getting frustrated and pushing his way past his mother to exit the hotel room. At no time was she struck/punched or kick nor did she loose balance or fall. If this is indeed the case this is a trifling incident that does not warrant police nor media attention; but having the hottest movie to hit the screen in years seems to have garnered him that.
I am by no means an expert on British law but our system is based on it with a health dose of American justice and I can't see him not being charged if this had indeed occurred. I do find the request for bail interesting however.
