Breaking News - 'Friday Night SmackDown' Moving To Cable Television
Submitted by Daniel Pena on April 12, 2010 - 8:44pm
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Friday Night SmackDown will be moving to Syfy, an affiliate of WWE's longtime cable partner, USA Network. WWE is likely to make an official announcement later this week.
The program will continue to air on Friday nights when it moves to Syfy later this year, most likely in either late September or early October.
Syfy will reportedly pay $30 million to air SmackDown, up 50% from the $20 million WWE has been getting from MyNetworkTV.
Smackdown has been on network television since its inception nearly eleven years ago.
Good move. Now I won't have to worry about local preemptions.

So about that ending to Raw tonight: what was the point of all that? Yeah they had to fill the rest of the time, but that was the worst ending I’ve ever seen. Not only did it drag out way too long but it made the NXT guys look like tools? If they’re trying to get me to watch it, they failed, and I’m glad I don’t.

I'm starting to like this NXT invasion story with all of Raw uniting against them, but I keep thinking the NXT guys could handled better. It's fine that they beat up the wrestlers, managers, and maybe some announcers, but they need to stop tearing the ring or backstage area up. What exactly does that accomplish? "Ha ha! We flipped your table!"
That limo bit was nice, but it probably would've been more of an impact if they stuffed Bret into the trunk and did all that, but this is the PG era after all.
I'm kind of hoping they show up on SmackDown! too.

Anybody else watch Lucha Libre: Masked Warriors USA on mtv2?
I could watch this, but it was just kinda slow and boring. Just seemed like there was no excitement to it. Although I do chalk about 3/4ths of that up to the commentators they used. "hey, he just drop kicked him, yay." And you could completely tell the crowd was told what to do. Also hate how in the midgets match only one of them was really a midget.
But who didn't see Marco Corleon (Mark Jindrak) winning? DrGreenEvil
Other wrestling notes: Really glad to see Kane as a champion. And if the Miz becomes champ, I would have lost all faith in wrestling. TNA looks like its getting interesting with the whole ECW team/angle.

i'd say Bobby Lashley will be returning to wrestling fairly soon after the embarrassing showing he just had at Strikeforce: Houston. he was in terrible shape, had no cardio, and looked like he had absolutely no business cagefighting. he couldnt finish Griggs from side control, couldnt finish him from full mount, didnt even attempt to strike and was just plain dominated. and he supposedly altitude trains, which i'm thinking is bs as he had absolutely no cardio and was gassed a minute into the fight. he definitely did not train well for that fight, if he even trained at all.
it was nice to see too. Lashley is not Lesnar and i dont why he, and Strikeforce, thought he could be. his first fight against a somewhat decent opponent and he gets destroyed. just imagine what would happen if he fought Fedor, Alistair Overeem, Brett Rogers, or Fabricio Werdum. Scott Coker has to see that he isnt worth what he's paying him and cut ties. and its not even like he's a big name and he can sell tickets. that fight belonged on the prelims.
