I really liked it. The show is pretty straight forward on what its intentions are. Its a kids show. Its not trying to be "dumbed down adult animation and strories". Its its own beast. I really liked the animation in it. The voice acting was pretty good as well. The story telling was kept on the most basic level. These elements worked well together. Right from the very beginning this felt like a silver age show. I loved the way Bats and Arrow were tied to the inside of that clock, with all the large gears. Jerry Robinson and Dick Sprang immediately popped into mind. The superhero pose that batman always takes is great. Also, did anyone notice that Batmobile in the beginning credits? That thing is awesome! I so want a toy of that!lol I will admit some of the kiddie one liners and goofiness made me roll my eyes a couple times, but it also made me smile at the same time. I think this show has brought a pureness back to the character and maybe with it, some new young fans. I cant wait until next Friday.

When I saw the first promotional images of the show, my hopes were not very high. But as time progressed, I started looking forward to it, but knew it wouldn't live up to past Bat-series.
But I was very impressed with the first episode of the series. Diedrich was a very good Batman, and did better than I expected. Not Conroy good, but good none the less. This show is great for any young viewer, and with the success of TDK, we may have a lot of new batfans tuning in and seeing even more DC heroes and expanding their interest even more. The Brave and the Bold series gets a thumbs up from me and I look forward to seeing more.
I do have just one complaint: the Clock King. His design was just weird.

It's good. It's exactly how I imagined it might be; great for the kids, and true to the '50s and 60s version of Batman. With this new show, another high-quality version of the character has been represented well. Bravo!

With this new show, another high-quality version of the character has been represented well. Bravo! I thought it was OK. I thought it was a cross between BTAS and an animated version of the 60's show. Bader's voice was alright, although to me it's just an OK imitation of Kevin Conroy. Overall, not as bad as I was expecting...I would say 2 stars/4

I love the show for what it is...im not comparing this to any other show...as it is its own timeline, it's own world...considering this one of the "52" worlds of the DC Universe...Great Job!

I agree with Professor Crane's review...it was okay. I guess BTAS and The Batman (after the first couple of episodes) spoiled me when it comes to an animated Batman series. My 8-year old son really enjoyed it so I guess we'll watch it together. I'm hoping the other episodes are better than this first one.

It really wasn't that great. I rate it okay. I am just glad that there is a new DCU animation show that I haven't seen every episode a thousand times.

I absolutely loved Batman: The Brave and the Bold!!! Diedrich was so awesome as Batman. Did way better than I expected. I loved the beginning with Green Arrow, where Batman says he would rather team up with him than anyone else. Too bad we only saw him for thst small segment. Also I loved how they made the Blue Beetle Batman's biggest fan, lol The theme song was one of my favorite parts, especially the Batmobile, it was wicked. Kanjar-Ro was a good villain, but I still wish we saw a Batman villain! I loved the blob people (or whatever they called them0 and their "power within". The clock king was wicked, I loved his voice. But again, it's too bad he was only in the beginning segment. Overall, I give it ten out of ten Bat-Signals, can't wait to see the next eposode.

I only caught the tail end of this episode. I like the direction the show is taking. Batman's voice was pretty good, as I thought it would be. It's going to take me awhile to get used to the animation style. The characters themselves are designed pretty well. Anyone else notice that Batman's cowl has eyebrows? I can't give a great review because I only saw the last 10 minutes, but what I saw was reassuring.

^Yeah, all of the animated versions of Batman that I have seen (with the possible exception of the Superfriends era) work with the eyes to show the emotion of the character. BTAS and subsequent DCAU series had him emote through the shape of the eye. TB did so as well, though his eyes were kind of a squashed oval shape, unlike BTAS triangular eyes. BTBATB seems to bypass the use of the "moving mask" with eyebrows that are outside the cowl. These techniques are necessary because animation tends to lack the subtlety of the real world.

[shadow=red,left,300]I finally saw the premiere on Teletoon!
I thought it was fantastic. I like the fact that it is very humor based and great for kids to enjoy. The voices were very well done and fit each character nicely. I have to admit the animation was very impressive!
I made the mistake of comparing it to "The Batman." I shouldn't have. There each very unique in there own way. [/shadow]

I really like this. And I don't see why people are complaining that this isn't Batman. It may be lighter but you can't tell me that his smartalek tone isn't pure Batman. I also like the "what is he thinking" parts. Its neat to hear what he's thinking.
The ep itself, I enjoyed as well. I liked Blue Beetle. Liked this version of the Clock King. I probably would have started off with the Plastic Man or Aquaman ep just for a stronger kickoff of the show.
Can't wait for this friday's ep. Tom Kenny as Plastic Man is probably gonna be really good. DrGreenEvil

I really think it comes back to your perception of Batman. If you're a little older (or younger an open minded) you see Batman as more than one thing. I see him as lighter and fun and also dark & brooding. I love to have all incarnations of Batman in front of me.
This show is a lot of fun and I look forward to continuing coverage on it!

I was pumped up for this series and it did not disappoint. It was a solid, fun, action-filled debut. Personally, I've grown up with exposure to many iterations of Batman so seeing a version that was more like the superhero caped crusader of the past than the dark knight of the present was a welcome sight. I grew up reading and enjoying the original Brave & the Bold series and I think that the show's creators made a wise decision with the format. TV needed a new (yet familiar) Batman on screen.
In this show, Batman is portrayed as one of the ultimate old guard superheroes, complete with his indispensible utility belt, sharp mind, and "hammers of justice" (you'll get the reference if you've seen the episode). You see a hero who not only fights alongside other seasoned veteran heroes (like Green Arrow) where he values their aid and expertise, but also takes upon the responsibility of mentoring the next generation of superheroes (like Blue Beetle) where great potential lies.
The art style calls attention to the works of Dick Sprang, Jack Kirby, and many others. It doesn't skimp out of showing some great action, either. There is humor, but it's not to the detriment of the characters. It works for this format. It's certainly got a "Zany" Bob Haney-vibe to it as well. And, I think that Diedrich Bader did a great job on Batman's voice as I am not married to the idea of Kevin Conroy being the only guy in town to do it (since it didn't work for me on Batman: Gotham Knight).
This is an all-ages show (so of course it's aimed and will appeal to the younger set), which is great because I was able to have a viewing party with my nephews and son and they loved every moment of it...and that's the best part. This show serves as a wonderful introduction to the wonders of the DC Universe without the darkness and cynicism that has seemingly creeped into every little corner. remember when comics (and cartoons) were...gasp...fun? Also, this episode illustrated some good points that kids can wrap their minds around...the value of teamwork, not letting your head get too big from your own accomplishments, and no matter how small you are, you still have the ability to make a big difference.
Bring on the Batman! Bring on the Brave and the Bold! I'm ready for it!
