Found" Phantom Claw "Batman fron series 2 Shadow Tek figures. Big purple and green Batman (new sculpt). On the back of the card it had repaints of Joker , Manbat and a few Batman figures. None of the other figures were on the pegs? The cool thing about this Batman is the lenticular Bat symbol on his chest. Walmart . $6.97

I found those 2-packs at Target for $2.99 but didn't find a 1966 Batmobile...has anyone seen these at stores yet? I'm having major problems finding one. About the 2-packs. I love the villian cars, those are cool. I also like the tiny figyre & the packaging but I wish they would have made 2 different Batmobiles instead of the same one...yes, I'm a whiner..waa waa!

The other day at TRU I found a cute Hotwheels "Batmobile Hauler/transporter"... one of the large plastic semi truck haulers (14.99?). Had The Batman deco and comes with a standard mini fig (also pictures a cool looking Batmobile on the back but not included). They also had the The Batman 8"? rotocast Batman and Joker in a two pack (batman is the first release). It seemed to me the Power-key playset has been repackaged? (still EXP but the fig is on the outside). And I bought this: "The Batman: Zipline Attack" travel / cup holder playset by Car-Go fun Mini/micro playset with mini Batman and Clayface

Picked up the Gotham City Ghost Batman at the local Wal-Mart today. Pretty cool figure. Passed on the yellow Robin (looked like the same sculpt as the first red and green version), even though the accessory was different. Also saw the Man-Bat with the cloth wings, the Joker with the orange pants, but they don't look like an improvement over the originals. Again, the old subject... why can't we have the show's current villains (Black Mask, Everywhere Man, future Mr. Freeze, et. al.) on the shelves when the eps are playing, instead of the flood of repaints? The shows have been in production since early 2006, right? Here are some of my previous posts on this (to my mind, at least) sore subject: I live in the South Bend, IN area and I never saw Metalhead, Killer Croc, Strangle Sleeves or Card Attack Joker - so far I've got all but Card Attack on Ebay, and that figure is going for $20 or more, so I'll wait for a while I guess - I only saw Blaster Batgirl once, and luckily I had the cash - never saw her again. Just like many of you, I'm checking at least 6-8 stores once or twice a week, which is WAY more than what should be necessary. I can't think of another commercial, profit-based company - whether it produces food, media, technology, etc. - that seems to value UNAVAILABILITY as a part of its' marketing scheme. When a potential customer is willing to drive all over town to buy a product, yet still can't find that product, then somebody is letting a lot of money walk out the door, get in the car and drive home mad. You would think that there would have to be somebody sharp enough at a company like Mattel to realize that there is a disconnect between their product and their customers - why not an online store to order direct, or hook up with a site like this to make these items available to collectors who are DYING to pay for these figures? Hell, even when they do respond to the buyer's wants ("The Batman" Poison Ivy and Ventriloquist), they screw that up by bundling them with a bunch of figures everybody has - then, after collecting dust on the shelves over Christmas, wind up selling them at half or one-third of the original price. After that result, who knows what the attitude will be towards other non-Batman figures? It boggles my mind sometimes. 11/27/06 at 14:10, bskcase wrote: Toylines tend to work slower than the animated shows. I think Mattel has a policy of wait and see. They wait to see if there is an interest in the toys and then they release them. You also have to take in consideration the amount of time it takes to make one figure. It is an extensive process that even now with real scan and 3-D printers, it still takes a long while to do.
Yeah, we've heard all this this before. Makes no sense at all. Why in the world would they want to "see if there is an interest in the toys"?!? No interest in Robin, huh? No interest in Poison Ivy? remember, Ivy didn't appear until a full year AFTER her premiere on the show, when we all knew she would be on the show a good 6 months prior to that, in early 2005! Then, she is in a box set at a ridiculous price point that nobody wants to pay. I don't buy that explanation at all. Look at all of the villians and side characters that appeared IN THE FIRST YEAR (1992-93) of BTAS. I just don't think that there is a strong voice at Mattel that speaks for the real, faithful, MONEY SPENDING fans of "The Batman." They just don't get it. I've brought up this point many times in the past. There is no logical marketing plan with attention to timing in place for these figures based on "The Batman" cartoon series characters. It would make a lot of sense to have the figures out at the time that the episodes air, if not before. The two would promote each other: the kids see the figures in the store, then they want to watch the show. When they see the show, they want to go to the store and buy the figures, right now - not 4, 5 months later. We all know that there is a year or more involved in creating these animated episodes, and the same is true for the toys. Why can't they work in concert, bringing the product out at the same time that their greatest marketing tool, the shows themselves, are hitting the air? With that approach, we would have Robin, Everywhere Man, and Black Mask on the racks already, at the time that they (and their reruns) are airing - and during Christmas season to boot! It seems so simple... Well, the beat goes on...

there is a disconnect between their product and their customers - correction: their product and little kids. period. in my opinion, there is a huge risk factor for mattel to produce villains. little kids are drawn to buy the protagonist. it is unlikely for kids to beg their parents to buy a villian. :] little kids put a roof over mattel.
