This is what they should do, not necessarily for The Dark Knight, but in general; they should release a special toy line of action figures that goes through the evolution of Batman. Picture it, actions figures of the Bon Kane (Det. Comics #27) Batman, then the Dick Sprang one. Then a set of figures from the 2 black and white serials. Then the line goes through the Julius Shwartz, Carmine Infantino period. Then they release a set of Batman toys resembling the cast of the 60's TV show. The next set would feature the Neal Adams Batman, then whoever was the quintessential 80's interpretation of Batman, possibly Aparo? Breyfogle? For me it would be Mazzuchelli. I'd love to see a YEAR ONE toy line. but anyway...Then you have the figures based on the Burton, Schumaker films. Then you get your TDKR, Jim Lee, Tim Sale, and whoever else is currently doing the best with the bat. the line would end with the nolan films. that's what i would love to see. it reminds me of the 1995 star wars kenner line. i always loved kenner. that's the toyline batman needs.

I like everything about your idea except for giving any time to the abominations that were the 60s TV series and the Schumacher films.

Theyve done some smaller "Legacy / evolution" type sets, but an entire comics Batman evolution line would be great. Though I dont think other mediums such as movies or tv should included. Strictly comics based would be best imo. the TV show is worthy of its own small line but the older films aint needed or Nec. IMO.
