"They've got Kmart ready to take a standing eight-count next year," says retail consultant Burt Flickinger III, managing director for Strategic Resources Group and a veteran Walmart watcher. "Same with Rite Aid. They've knocked out four of the top five toy retailers, and are now going after the last one standing, Toys "R" Us. If WalMart wants to kill TRU, they should have expanded their toy section in the recent wave of store renovations instead of contracting it. None of my local WalMart's stock DCU now, and only one stocks Brave and the Bold. I'm sure they'll "toy-up" for the Christmas season, a practice I find infuriating.
Between Target and WalMart's lack of commitment to DCU in ALL of their stores, and Mattel's lack of consistent production, it's almost impossible to collect these lines without bowing to scalpers. Here is a list of recent figures that I want that I've never seen at retail. Take into consideration that I have four WalMart and two Target stores within a reasonable distance:
DCU Riddler DCU Robin DCU Nightwing DCU Batman Beyond DCU Gentleman Ghost DCU Gotham 5-pack
That's just DCU, and I could go on and on.
Back when Kenner/Hasbro had the Bat-license, the only figure I never saw on the peg during that 10-year run was Phantasm. Collecting this stuff is beginning to get a little too difficult for me, and I'm seriously considering dropping all the Mattel lines and just getting DC Direct product at my LCS, which gets and holds everything I order.

My local Wal-Mart does not have a very good toy section. They barely had any Dark Knight figures and have seen only one movie master figure since they first came out.No Brave and the Bold or DCU figures at all.
