well this just kills my day. thats terrible news. Peter Laird no longer owning the Turtles and no longer being involved with the franchise is just bad all around. hopefully this wont effect the comics. thats my main concern. im remembering when Archie made those terrible TMNT comics and im praying something similiar doesnt happen now.

I am going to wait and see what happens before I make a judgment call.

Weren;t the original Ninja Turtle Comics more adult orientend anyway? they were and still currently are. all TMNT comics published by Mirage are geared towards adults and not children. with Mirage selling their rights that puts the comics in jeopardy which is why this is terrible news to me as i'm a huge fan of the Mirage comics. back in the mid-nineties Mirage had financial problems and sold the rights to Archie Comics who made childrens comics based on the 87 cartoon. i'm hoping that something similiar doesnt happen again. the other thing that concerns me with this deal is the action figures. now its been stated that the Playmates merchandising deal is still intact and they will remain making figures, but what about NECA? NECA grabbed the comic license and has given us great figs based on the Mirage comics with more set to come out. this new deal may put those figs in jeopardy too which just plain sucks. and what about Ubisoft and the video games too? no mention there and Ubisoft brought the franchise back in the game world. hopefully that deal stays intact too.

So did Nickelodeon and Paramount flat out buy TNMT, or did they just buy the exclusive use of them for a certain period?
