Zack Snyder, famous for adapting Frank Miller's work (300), may be on the short list of people that WB wants when Nolan inevitably leaves. This could mean a regular batman film..could be Dark Knight Returns. Snyder joked to MTV recently that he'd like to to a Dark Knight Returns movie in 20 years with an aging Bale.

I could see Snyder doing a DKR, but I want Nolan to finish the trilogy first. Then Snyder could take over with a 4th film or DKR.

I have no doubt Snyder would do an excellent job in adapting DKR but I don't see Warner Bros. ever green lighting it as a major motion picture. At best it would be an animated film.

I've liked Snyder's work. I just don't think I'm ready to see Miller's Batman on the big screen. I'm kind of indifferent to this news.

..thats why I said Snyder joked to MTV recently that he'd like to to a Dark Knight Returns movie in 20 years with an aging Bale. It does still raise the question..BEST case we have one more bat-film from Nolan. He's too moody to give us anything beyond that, so the torch will be passed. Its not like the olden days..Bat films are making money again, so they'll pass it right along. Snyder is a natural choice for a fantasy film and he has a good comic book-related showing so far. I figured there would be a lot more opinions on this!

Hm. I think it'd be interesting to see a DKR movie, but I don't know that they'd do that well with it. I think it's inevitable that it would disapoint all us die hard fans, at least a live action one would, but I think animation-wise, it would be so wicked!

I'd be shocked if it weren't the next DCU batman film, to be honest.

I wanna see Bruce Timm and company create DTVs for The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Year One, A Death in the Family, The Killing Joke, The Long Halloween, Dark Victory and Hush. Maybe Knightfall too if they could condense it down to one animated film.

I'm totally for seeing Bruce Timm versions of the killing joke and a long halloween that would be great. As for hush I think the need to go a head with the The Batman styled one they started before the seires was canceled.

If he didn't do a realistic verison I'm all for him imagian what he could do with Arkham, and althoughs Speacil Effects. Also his much better then rumors I heard of Micheal Bay directing a Batman movie.

I'd be more than pleased if Snyder takes over. There's something about his style that really does it for me, his films are abit like 2 hour music videos. Which is a horrid way to describe them, but it works for me.
And had he not ruined the Spider-Man series, Sam Raimi would've been my second choice.
And all things considered, someone like Bruce Willis would make a better Batman than 50-something Christian Bale. He'd be abit too soft for old Bruce, in my opinion.

I wouldn't say Raimi ruined the Spider-Man series. If you say that just because of Spider-Man 3, it wasn't his fault. He was pressured into doing Venom by Avi Arad. He's got full creative control back for Spider-Man 4.

I'd want Nolan to do a third film, before they let this guy take over. I'm sure he would do a good job, but it would be great to have a Nolan trilogy.
