^ supposedly its not Jean-Paul Valley. from the hints and previews its hinted that the new Azrael is the Third Batman from right before R.I.P., Valley is back, but he hasnt really been used and he's only been seen in cameos so far. The Third Man? Where did you hear that?

The Third Man? Where did you hear that? the previews for Azrael: Death's Dark Knight # 1 clearly state that it isnt JPV. and there are a number a hints in it as well. here's what the preview reads: "He was a husband and a father. A brother and a friend. A cop and a dark knight. But he had all that taken away. And in return, he was given a suit of sorrows, a quest for redemption and a new name. He is Azrael, avenging angel for the Order of Purity and a new protector for Gotham City's troubled times. But who will protect the citizens from him? Guest-starring Robin, Nightwing, Talia and the League of Assassins, this miniseries runs alongside BATTLE FOR THE COWL and features the dramatic presence of a strangely familiar, troubled hero with two things on his mind: crazed vengeance for the wrongs he has suffered and salvation for the sins he continues to commit!" JPV never got married. he didnt have any kids. he was never a cop. and he has no siblings. also, JPV would never work for the Order of Purity. they were the ones who helped orchestrate his assassination. also it makes sense that its the Third Batman, as he fits everything listed in the preview and it actually gives a reason for that character getting such a lengthy story when he debuted.

For the record, I knew it wasn't going to JPV as Azrael. We'll see if you're right about the Third Man in March.

Also whats with nightwing's fear of two face? Bruce Wayne is not dead, he's just going away for awhile, and we'll find out why in Final Crisis. When Dick was still starting out as Robin, Two-Face nearly killed him.

I thought he was leaving the title after this current run, but was returning in 2010 when Bruce is brought back in the cape and cowl.

has anyone else read about morrison getting kicked off batman! i read in the new game informer that hes out I heard he's supposed to still be on Batman after Battle for the Cowl. If he was kicked off, I wouldn't be surprised. Marvel did fire him after he killed Magneto when they told him not to.

it said that Morrison's run on batman was considered by many comic enthusiasts to be one of the worst stints on a high-profile comic to date. dc is bringing in Neil Gaiman to clean up the mess. its a two part story "whatever happened to the caped crusader" and it starts in batman 686. but it doesn't say anything else about Morrison staying or leaving dc. if hes off dc i dnt see him getting anymore work in comics, considering marvel and dc have knocked him off his projects

Morrison is not leaving Batman at this time. Dan DiDio loves his work is one of his best friends. he wont fire him. Game Informer is not a great source for comic industry news.

i understand that they wouldn't fire him. but they've got it on Batman's dc homepage about Neil Gaiman too. i dnt know why hes doing a story in morrisons place.wat do you think jlavia? maybe they didnt like that direction, or maybe a different take on the story?

they brought Gaiman in to do an arc and Denny O'Neill is also doing an arc. it was all part of the plan. DiDio is very happy with Morrison. Neil Gaiman doing Batman is a big thing thats why they brought him in for an arc after a big event. O'Neill coming back to Batman is a big thing, thats why they brought him in for an arc after a big event as well.

I love the arc and all things batman and don;t get me wrong but...I find it really annoying when they make all this noise about 'The End of Batman' and then do nothing... I know the puiblicity is good but it kind of annoys me

I just read R.I.P. the Deluxe Edition and I was not impressed. I don't see how you get from the the Black Glove miniseries that set it up to it and I don't think the villains accomplished much. Well, I mean, they did, but, they didn't.
The two issues after R.I.P. in the collection explained how in Final Crisis, the charred body that Superman carried out of the Bunker in Bludhaven was a clone made by Simyan and Mokkari and that is how Batman has a dead body even though he is alive in prehistoric times.
I will read the Heart of Hush next. But does anybody know which TPB volumes of Nightwing and Robin the issues of their series that were on the R.I.P. checklist will be in?
One more thing. In Final Crisis we se Father Time working for Checkmate. I find this odd because last I saw him the president of the United States said that he was scared that Time had all the nation's secrets in his head. That would mean he was a fugitive, right. How did he end up on the good side?

Hmm, I hadn't heard the clone theory yet. Nice idea. As for Nightwing and Robin's tie-ins: NIGHTWING: THE GREAT LEAP dccomics.com/dcu/comics/?cm=12107ROBIN: SEARCH FOR A HERO dccomics.com/dcu/comics/?cm=12108

I also just read R.I.P. deluxe edition, and honestly, it B.I.T. I'm sorry but Grant Morrison is a god awful writer.I mean I know there's some lame villain names, but "Dr. Hurt"? no points awarded for originality there. I got frustrated mid way through the book, and the ending made me want to pull my eyes out.

I think Grant Morrison is better at one shot stories, Arkham Asylum for instance.
I cant believe you didnt think a villain called Dr.Hurt was awesome, Ha Ha!!!!

i hate it when they make major events like this happen, because they always tie it in to every publication remotely related to the center character and if you miss one your totally lost for about a year until the graphic novel comes out.

The most recent election elected Senator Knight into office, but he was actually killed and replaced by Gonzo the Mechanical Bastard beforehand, and after Gonzo was defeated by the combined forces of Father Time and the Freedom Fighters, the current president took office. I believe he was Knight's vice-presidential running mate.
