Hi there. Well the answer is pretty simple... the same way as you by buying or getting your first item(s). You have to also realize its been over 20 years (in my case at least). There was a time I remember quite well when all I had was a small stack of comics and a little tackle box of action figures. In many ways those were more satisfying times. At any rate, your individual ability to "collect" is dependant on many factors, the most obvious being money and space. Both of which tend to improve with age in most cases. I have also been fortunate enough to have family and spouse(s) who have supported and contributed to the hobby. Never forget there is a "down side" to accumulating all this stuff and that it is just "stuff".

Of course we all start out with just a few items. I had a few toys from when I was a kid but really started collecting with the 1989 film. But if you really want to rapidly expand your collection, and on a budget, go to Goodwill, Salvation Army, and garage sales. You will be amazed at the treasures you can find, especially if you are not concerned with everything being Mint in Box.

omgman....
.....honestly its a process. It takes a rather obsessive personality to build a truly huge collection. I began collecting very seriously 13 years ago. It began with two action figures and exploded from there.
Everytime I go to a store I have areas I check..I look at seasonal merchandise Valentines, candy, etc. I check the $1 section at Target and we watch the dollar tree stores..I look for new coloring books....we used to have the WB store, which as batlaw can probably agree gave us a TON of great stuff from all price points....
Its something you just have to build. If you love Batman enough you can commit to it. You do need to focus on what you really like...don't just buy to make it larger...buy what you actually want and it grows naturally. Its quality over quantity.
