Hey all,
Long time lurker, first time poster here and I am in need of some advice!
I live in the UK and any fellow UKers out there will tell you how royally screwed we are when it comes to Bat cartoon shows/movies being released on DVD over here. I recently got my hands on the US complete TAS box set and to my sheer luck season 2, 3 and 4 play as regionless despite the tech specs saying they are region 1 discs. Does anybody know if the Batman Beyond and The Batman DVDs happen to follow suit and work as regionless?
Grateful of any help! Neil

Neil,
Glad you decided to post! Welcome!
To my understanding, as long as you have a region-free DVD player, you can play anything.

Thanks for the welcome The regionless DVD player is my problem really because I've upgraded to a blu ray player which is totally region locked and has no unlock code. So I could invest in a regionless DVD player I was just hoping I could play the discs in my blu ray and see them upscaled. I've bitten the bullet and ordered Batman Beyond season 1 so that should arrive this week and fingers crossed it will work. If it does then that's the floodgates well and truly open and I'll finally get The New Adventures of Batman and everything else! Although I didn't realise season 1 of Justice League was out on blu ray in the US which is pretty exciting!

Hello Nvagg, I too live in the UK (England to be precise). I have all of the Original Batman animated series, Earlier Batman movie specials, Justice League Unlimited & The Batman on region 1 DVD and they all seem to play fine on my region B blu ray player. I also find it very annoying as too why Warner Home Video do not rease these series or give us the same options as the US in the way of Animated DVD's/ Blu ray. Since i have noticed that all of the current animated movies are not released over here at all or we have to wait months for them to be released, Why do we have Wait??? and why are Warner Home video not bring out the current Brave & the Bold episodes on Blu ray instead of just DVD? I would buy this if it was released on Blu ray..

Tell me about it! I don't understand the way they're working the new animated movies, I was amazed they released Wonder Woman here but I suppose that's better than nothing! I emailed Warner about the new Red Hood movie and they tell me it'll be released here the week after the US but they only mentioned DVD format not Blu Ray. I've got season 1 of Batman Beyond now, still weird actually seeing it called Beyond and not Batman of the Future lol. I'll be going ahead and getting the rest now, have you got hold of any more than season 1 of The Batman? I see from amazon UK they sell seasons 1-4 separately but only sell 5 with all the others in one go. Same with teen Titans!

Yes, I have got seasons 1 - 4 and they work on my bluray player just fine. I need to get season 5 but just haven't got around to it. There are some Internet sites other that sell season 5 by itself. I will try and find the link if you need it? On the subject of the Under the red hood I noticed that Best buy are selling it with a figure but as usual they do not ship to the Uk and I don't suppose Warner home video will release the same thing over here, same old story.

If you come across a good link for season 5 of The Batman let me know! I assume all these 'region 1' DVDs are really regionless because they know they won't release them here but we will import like crazy because there's definitely the demand for it! I'm watching my Batman Beyond now and preparing to crack open The Return of Bruce Wayne 1 and 2 which came in the mail special Forbidden Planet delivery today!

I normally use a web site called playusa.com, I have used them for most of the DVDs that I have had to get that are region 1 and never had any problems with the playback althogh it really pains me that I have to be ordering these DVDs from an American site and not one from over here.
