Great find, great read. And he is absolutely right. I agree with the fact that they should have gone with a year one style suit like in Batman Dead End

Good to see that another fan loved it.
As for the suit issue, I'm not sure how the Average Joe audience would've responded to a Year One/Dead End-like suit. I've asked all my non-hardcore Bat fans which look they liked better: all black rubber suits from the films or the black and gray tights from the comics. All of them said that they favored seeing the all black rubber suits on film (and yes, they've seen the black and gray tights on film after I showed them Sandy's World's Finest and they thought he looked kinda strange).
I think it would've been interesting if they made it look a lot more different (different material, yet still believable as being "body armor," and going with the black-and-gray two-toned suit from the comics), but I'm not sure what the Average Joe audience would've thought.
I've said before on other forums that the black and gray doesn't make much sense, but after thinking about it....it could've had a simple explanation. The suit he gets from Wayne Industries is all gray. I would've said that the utility belt from Wayne Industries comes with a black harness for climbing purposes, which Bruce changes into the "black undies" on the outside of the suit. Then he gets the black symbol painted onto the gray Nomex suit. Add black cape and cowl (which are both explained in the actual movie, I believe) and voila.

With the year one suit they could have used it early in the movie, and then switched to the black rubber later on in the movie. Sort of what Spider Man did in the first film with the sweatshirt and what not
