Who's the best Bat-Villain in the movies and why?

Mr. Freeze, due to his campy, pun-riddled depiction( ), but I also could have said Bane, because he in no way resembles his comic counterpart other than by his muscles. EDIT - Oops! I misread this thread as worst villain! Sorry about that. In that case, I'd have to say Ra's al Ghul so far, but I'm sure the new Joker will blow every other villain before him away.

i have to say Joker. even though he wasn't the greatest in 89's Batman, he's still the best villain EVER!

Catwoman and The Joker were portrayed extremely well. Tommy Lee Jones and Arnold Schwarzenegger were a disgust. I wonder what they were smoking when they made these casting choices. They should have watched BTAS and based their choices on these incarnations.
Harvey Dent was supposed to be young and handsome...Tommy Lee Jones would have been more appropriate as Alfred than Dent if anything. Billy Dee Williams was also a bad choice for Dent, Burton definately screwed up on that one. Honestly, taking a loook back on the previous actors that portraye Dent, Timberlake appears as a better choice than the other, but I'd rather still have someone else.
Arnold Schwarzenegger could have played a masked thug, but only if he doesn't have any lines other that "ouch" or "arghh". And thanks to Schwarzenegger Freeze became the laughing stock of the comic book villains again.

I liked scarecrow, because he seemed really like the character in btas. Plus he said a very cool line, " It's the Bat-Man."

oops, I accidentally voted Twoface cause I didn't read the poll title all the way through. Out of the movie villains I'd go with Scarecrow. He was a wimpy unintimidating man, he became a scary as hell symbol, and he got defeated in a degrading way. I couldn't have made him better myself.

Only actor left a major cultural impact on their character...okay, a major POSITIVE cultural impact (Uma Thurman, you sicken me!). Michelle Pfeiffer's Selina Kyle is the best interpretation of the character EVER for my money.
Not that the damn computer will let me vote. Grrr, arg.

True that...the Batman Returns Catwoman OWNS any other Catwoman incarnaions, especially Halle Berry *lol*

Definately Ras Al Ghul, Liam Neeson did and incredible job playing Ras, the Bruce Wayne/Batman relationship with Ras is pretty much true to form in the comics, the only thing I wished we had seen was The Lazarus Pits, but perhaps he will return and all that will be explained...

scarecrow no competion, a memorable villain who chills u both in and out of costume and is more better orgin and motives then in the comics, this scarecrow is much greater then the comic version.

Wow, this was tougher than I thought it would be. I went for Danny DeVito's Penguin. I watched BR last night and forgot how much I enjoyed it at the cinema. Catwoman was a close second. Should Max Schrek be included too? He was pretty evil.

I go with Scarecrow. He can really take you out of the game with his fear toxin.

For me, it has to be Jack Nicholson's Joker...If he didn't prove to audiences that he can play insane characters with The Shining, and, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, then I don't know how he could prove it...
His acting may be over-the-top, but, then again, could you ever imagine the Joker being played completely straight?

[glow=hotpink,2,300]I voted for Joker becuase he's the embodiment of what a good, clever villain should be. Catwoman's not really a villain, she's more of a "do whatever the hell you want" kinda girl. She's good and bad. The grey area, but not a villain.
As for Ra's not showcasing his daughter and lazarus pits, I doubt he would reveal all of his cards in the first visits. [/glow]

Although Jack's performance as The Joker was good. I say The Scarecrow. Cilian Murphy is a great actor. & he pulled of crazy, & scary at the same time. This poll should return when the next film comes out.

Liam Neeson's Ra's Al Ghul for me. He was sooo bad@$$ and it was amazingly perfect casting, IMO.
The look, the physical ability to handle himself in fight scenes, the voice of father-like authority and severity...all of it made him my favorite villain of the films. Liam was perfect.

[shadow=purple,left,300]Jack Nicholson was a great Joker. Cilian Murphy was a decent Scarecrow, too.
I think Tommy Lee Jones, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the man who was Bane held the worst performances.[/shadow]

Between Catwoman and Scarecrow. I love Cillian Murphy's acting and the thing was he scared me before I even knew he was a "bad guy" He just had this... air. He had the scary/pervy/beautiful killer vibe, like you knew the guy was whacked even before he said anything. I loved it.

I'm a big fan of Nicholson's Joker. I have to say that at the time, no one could have done it better, IMO. I think whoever plays the Joker next, is going to have big shoes to fill because a lot of people are going to be making comparisons. Just a thought...

I agree totally.at least no one will be thinking of Romero this time. it will be all about Jack Vs Whoever and the Hamill animated Joker will probably get a look in too
