Well I was just wondering what people think about the Heath Ledger Joker. Do you like it, hate it, or are you indifferent?

I'm kind of indifferent! At first I HATED it but now I am starting to get used to it and I'm liking it more and more!

I don't have a complete opinion yet, I mean, we haven't seen the entire character yet. What kind of outfit will he wear? How will the hair look? All in all, I think the face will work, but more importantly is the handling of the character on a whole. They need to hit this one out of the park.

Im personally more opinionated by the acting rather than the actor. Nolan has me confident that he made a solid choice and knew what he was doing.

There are conceptional elements I'm liking, but I'm indifferent with everything as a whole. Bassically the proof will have to be in the pudding so to speak. I'm willing to reserve judgement and "knee jerk" reactions.

Until I see him in action, I'm waiting. But I like the first pic we saw.

Not liking the first image of Heath as The Joker at all. I trust and believe in Nolan and that this will be another great Batman movie, but the first image does nothing for me except wish they were using a different villian if that is the final version of The Joker

I really like what I've seen and heard so far. If I were, like some, insistent that Joker be identical or extremely close to his comic book counterpart, I'd no doubt have some qualms. However, I've seen the way Nolan has made the world of Batman his own and I think he can adapt the Joker to his vision marvelously. What I've witnessed so far, although minimal, has supported my confidence in the director. I certainly won't make a definitive judgment until I've seen trailers and then the film itself. But it looks intriguing regardless.

I love it - so far. Creepy, scary, sick, repulsive...definitely the way to go in this Batman's world, and these early images are dead on.

Based on Heath's previous work, I've never like his acting style. Thought from day one he was the wrong choice for the part. Seeing this first pic of the Joker has me worried. While I will see TDK with an open mind, so far I'm not impressed.

I don't think anyone can judge right now how it will turn out with Heath Ledger. Like, think of it this way, Jack Nicholson wouldn't have worked in '89 had they gone in this direction for the 'cut-smile', and ledger wouldn't have worked if he was constantly grinning. Everyone says, "o, heath ledger is such an amazing actor, watch brokeback! It's all there!" now i saw a bit of brokeback mountain when it was on cable because i wanted to see how ledger acted in it (the last thing i saw him in was the patriot - he was good. but before that it was 10 things i hate about you...and..well..). to be honest, i didn't get what everyone was raving about in brokeback. he was a dude who murmured a lot. but then, a day or two ago, i saw him in NED KELLY. and he was fantastic. it was one of those rare occasions where you forget you're watching an actor by name, and you're just so absorbed by the character (like jamie foxx in RAY). so the good news here is in ned kelly, ledger played a sympathetic outlaw/murderer. you see where i'm goin' with this?

Too hard to judge right now, its gonna have to wait until I see him in action and I don't mean trailers. To define the whole performance based off a look is to harsh.
I am however waiting to see how he handles the trademark laugh that Mark Hammil has set in my opinion of course.

I think it is somewhat very "The Crow" form of the Joker. Young skinny and kinda Goth. Over all I like the concept. Not sure as to how they are going to make him the Joker, whether it be a vat of Acid (for some reason there are tons of those in Gotham) or some chemical explosion. Truth be told I watch these movies, thinking that it's an alternate earth, like in the comics...where parallel worlds exist. This is just another mirror/fragmented image of our favorite Hero and Villains

Well I guess it all depends on who you ask. Different people think different things are the mother of all jokes.

I think I like him. But, is the Joker wearing make-up, or is that his skin color? I can't tell. I want him to have the permanent pastey white skin, not have to check his cover-up in the mirror the whole movie.

wasn't the story meant to be that at first he just used to wear the clown mask for robberies, but then something happened which melted the mask onto his face? maybe he was able to remove most of it, but the inside of the mask melting has caused his skin to be coloured white permanently?
or have i got it completely wrong?
but in the pics we've seen of him, it does look like it's just white make-up. maybe him actually having white skin is not realistic enough for Nolan's world, so make-up might be a plausible answer?

I'm not sure. When you refer to the story of him becoming Joker, do you mean in the comic books or the movie? I'm trying to know as little as possible about the movie plot, so I guess I'm in the dark (knight).

sorry, yeah i meant in the Nolan movie world. we've seen pics of him wearing a clown mask during robberies, as do his gang, and then rumour was that some accident caused the mask to be stuck or melted to his face. i don't know how accurate or true this is though, so don't take what i've said as gospel.
