WHAT: The 2005 VES-VFX Festival of Visual Effects reveals the wizardry behind today’s hottest films, television shows, commercials and games. Special screenings, panels and events highlight the creative and groundbreaking visual effects in STAR WARS III, HERBIE FULLY LOADED, MADAGASCAR, BATMAN BEGINS, SIN CITY, LORDS OF DOGTOWN, CSI, ALIAS, LOST and much more. Full festival schedule below including times and panelists.
WHEN: June 24 – 26, 2005 Festival kicks off at 1PM on Friday, June 24. Saturday and Sunday festivities start at 9AM and last all day.
WHERE: The newly renovated Aero Theatre in Santa Monica plays host to this year’s festival. 1328 Montana Avenue at 14th Street, Santa Monica.
WHO: J.J. Abrams – Creator of “Lost” and “Alias.” Catherine Hardwicke – award winning director of LORDS OF DOGTOWN join visual effects artists from around the world as they reveal the secrets of their craft. VFX teams from ILM, Dreamworks, New Deal Studios, Gray Matter, CafeFX, The Orphanage, Hybride, Double Negative and many others. Special conversation with VFX legends Richard Edlund and Jim Rygiel On Sunday, Herbie the Lovebug will be there.
