On Thursday, "Batman Begins" took in an additional 2 and a half million, bringing its total to 135 million thus far. Going into the 4th of July weekend with 135 million, by Monday it should surpass its production budget. Holding its own rather well against "War of the Worlds" if you ask me, the film should be on its way to at least a 175 million total, but could finish its run at closer to 190 - 200 million -- which would make it the second most successful Batman film, behind Tim Burton's 1989 motion picture. It should also be noted that at this point "Begins" has surpassed the box office of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, will soon surpass the box office of "The Longest Yard," and should surpass the box office of "Madagascar" and Feb.'s hit film, "Hitch." --Larry Exact totals for Thursday June 30th $2,637,269 Bringing it overall to: $135,460,937
With the bad reviews of War of the Worlds, I wouldn't be surprised to see Batman Begins give it a real good run for it's money for the #1 spot over the weekend

Yes, but this is also an estimate, and as we've seen from the last two weeks, the estimates for "Begins" always come in a little lower than the actuals. By Sunday, the movie will have crossed the 150 million mark, and should make an additional 4-5 million on Monday. The film's holding up remarkably well, both in terms of drop-offs and competition. A box office take between 180-200 million is looking very likely.

"Batman Begins" is estimated to have made an additional 5,625,000 on Saturday, bringing its total (as of Saturday) to 145,601,000 thus far. By today it will have eclipsed the box office of "The Longest Yard," and counting Monday's box office, "Batman Begins" should finish the 4 day weekend with around 156-158 million.

"Batman Begins" took in an estimated 5,380,000 on Sunday, bringing its total to an estimated 151,146,000 total. It's projected to make only 3,000,000 today (Monday), which to be honest seems a little low -- perhaps purposely low, as people seem unsure as to what business will look like today. Myself? I think the film will make closer to 4,000,000 today. Either way, the film's projected to have made at least 154,000,000 by the end of today, if not a little higher. Edited To Add: ...And Techno Bat's beaten me to it, posting the numbers as I was typing up my response! --Larry

I have been looking at these numbers and I am pretty confident that this film will have the legs to get to 200 million domestic. What does everyone else think?

I think 200 million is certainly possible, but in the very least, it won't finish with anything less than 180 million. So anywhere between 180-200 million is my guess on this one. I think the 200 million mark will depend a lot on the competition, namely, how well "Fantastic Four" does this next weekend, and how much FF eats into the box office for "Begins."

I definately think that Batman Begins will flirt around the 200 million mark, little more, or a little less.
My exact guess: 217 million.
Then you factor in the DVD sales and I think it will make alot of money
World Wide Batman Begins has already taken $268.1 million And the movie cost 150 million to make so they are definately in the plus with this film and with speculation of The Joker being the main villian in the next movie I think the second film will do alot better than the first.

Batman Begins made $2,208,355 on Thursday 7/7 bringing it's total to $161,889,333 Going into this weekend, I am looking for a big drop off, the movie might end up in the third probably fourth spot when it is all said and done (this weekend) with the top three spots looking like this:
1. War of the Worlds 2. Fantastic Four 3 Dark Water 4. Batman Begins

i think this was one of the greatest movies ever made! i absolutly loved the story and acting. it had a feel of some of the greatest Batman stories ever. i loved when Gotham had the bridges raised and only had Gordon and Batman to save it. it reminded me of No Mans Land. and they should make a sequel. and we all know who the villain will be. ;D i get giddy just thinking about it.

"Batman Begins" is estimated to remain in the third place, taking in an estimated 10 million dollars, which would push its total to 172 million thus far. By next weekend the movie will have surpassed the total box office of "Batman Forever" to become the second highest grossing Batman film, and if it continues to show the legs that it has, the movie is likely to end its run at the box office with a total ranging between 190-200 million.
Meanwhile, "Fantastic Four" debuted with an estimated 56 million for the top spot, which is just a little bit higher than what the first "X-Men" film made in its opening weekend. That film also seems to be a real crowd pleaser, so it'll be interesting to see if it will perform similar to "Begins," or have a steep drop (anything more than 50%) in the second weekend.
Looking beyond the whole "Marvel vs. DC" mentality that a lot of fans have for some reason, if "FF" holds up well, this will have been a great summer for comic book movies, showing that this genre has pull at the box office, and hopefully, proving that WB can invest in bringing more of its heroes to the big screen beyond those who are most famous (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman.)
And for those curious, "War of the Worlds" was number two, suffering a 52% drop, but bringing its box office total thus far to 162 million, I believe.

I was a bit surprised looking at the top four movies. I thought for sure War of the Worlds was going to hold onto the top spot, but FF took it instead. And I had a feeling that Batman Begins might beat out Dark Water.
Estimates for the weekend: $10,216,000 bringing its estimated total to $172,105,000
Your right about being a great summer for super hero movies, early in the year Constantine had a great run as well

According to the FINAL numbers, "Batman Begins" remained in the third place for the weekend, and it's total now stands at just under 172 mill. Also, the film's international total now stands at 132 mill., with the film experiencing very small drop-offs overseas as well. That means that the film's worldwide total is now 304 mill. and climbing!

Hopefully it has the legs to get to 200 million domestic. Batman on film seems to think so. What is everyone's estimate on what this film will earn by summers end. I say 205 million.

i'm one of the peeps who is really counting on big box-office revenues for begins, but, no matter, begins might "just" make $200 mill but rest assured, batman is back and better than ever. and i know for a fact that the DVD would be BIG bucks for WB.

Here are the totals for Tuesday July 12th $1,308,408, and it's over all $174,525,652
All Batman Begins needs is another 25½ million to break into the 200 million dollar range. I think it will just make it there...

Looks like "Begins" will have to wait until Tuesday to surpass the total box office of "Forever," but I'm not sure it's going to reach the 200 million mark -- it should come in just shy of that number, closer to 195 million or so. Internationally, I think the film will make just what Forever did, 150 million -- which would be the exact budget of this movie.
Even if you add in, say, 50 million for marketing, which is a high number, that's nearly 150 million in profit for "Begins." And that's not counting all the various other sources of revenue the film's generated and the huge DVD sales come this November.
It should also be noted that Time-Warner claimed THREE of the top five spots at the box office, with WB's "Charlie," and sister company New Line's "Wedding Crashers" both debuting with very strong, very impressive numbers.
