I recently read somewhere that (supposedly) the Director's cut / "special additions" of the previous 4 Bat-films were scheduled for "Approx. December. to coincide with the DVD release of Begins"?

its hard to say...dates on these things change a lot.
if BOF gave a date recently, I'd go with that

WB Tentative DVD Schedule[shadow=purple,left,300]It looks like October 24th is the day for the "Batman Begins" DVD, which is a month earlier than previously reported.
Also, the Special Editions are due out on October 3. Again, these are tentative, but since a lot of sites are reporting this today, I'd stick with it until further notice.[/shadow]

Thank You.
I can't wait to see what they throw on there for DVD extra's. I hope they show some of the training Christian Bale went through.

[shadow=red,left,300]Of course I'm looking forward to the Begins DVD. I just hope that WB doesn't decide to push the release dates for the SE DVD's again. [/shadow]

Same here, Bullock. I need to start laying the groundwork with the missus right now for one of those new HD widescreen TVs...

This is great news!! I'm sure Begins will be in theatre until about a month before so we won't have to wait long between viewings!

Anyone any idea what is on the SE's?
Who thinks the initial release of Begins will be a 2 disc set, followed by a special edition in time for the sequal?
Always fall for these things and should no better.

I'm really hoping for that deleted Batman Forever footage. I watched the movie recently and I could pick out all the spots where something cool got cut out. That was not fun.

I'm happy that all 4 are being released - even Batman and Robin as there is one deleted scene that i really want to see which is where Poison Ivy stabs Bruce's Girlfriend to death after the party! And just seeing all of the other deleted stuff and extras will be something to look forwood to in October!

I just hope we don't get the usual type of "quality" casing WB usually gives us. You know, the cardboard box with the plastic clip lock. Hopefully it is a quality piece of work and they don't skimp on the extras like they usually do.

They stopped using the snapper cases about 2 years ago. All of their new releases come in the standard amary case.

They stopped using the snapper cases about 2 years ago. All of their new releases come in the standard amary case. The switched to the clamshells around the time The Matrix: Reloaded came out, I think. The other cases were not suitable for packaging two discs and nobody who wants to make any money off of a DVD releases a single disc anymore. You can't charge $20-30 for it otherwise. mike
