To me ledger is one of those actors who has a lot of potential, it's up to him how good he does. I can defiantly see him topping Hammil's performance, but i can also see him being the worst joker yet.

Yeah, it can go either way. Hammil's the one to beat. He's what I think about when I think about The Joker. I really hope Ledger can do it.

It's not much, but it's something kinda worthwile. We'll be hearing some casting news next month. According to an insider it will be either returning cast members or new or both. It's not much but its all I got.

I hope Katie Holmes doesn't get casted again. She'll talk more about her family life with Cruise (my archnemesis) than The Dark Knight.
I hope we find out who will play Dent and Penguin as well.

Unfortunately for those who hated Katie. it's been reported she's returning. & interestingly enough has turned into a gym rat. She' been there non stop for months. Could this mean the role wll be more physical?

Apparently he's still involved, as far as speculation goes. Nolan denied the Hoffman rumor, but as far as we know he's still involved. Although I think Black Mask is out.

Is penguin going to be a major villain or just a background villain. I heard he was only going to be a arms dealer? I would rather the movie concentrate on Joker and Two-Face then have the penguin enter. To me he does'nt have the kind of story to star in a Batman Begins sequal. Without the "monster" type thing Burton did, he could get boring. I would much rather see the coming sequals feature joker in the Dark Knight, in the sequal to the dark Knight have catwoman being the major villain and have Dent being scarred in the background. The third sequal would then feature Dent. Thats just what i would want to see.

In the origional treatment he had a small role. It's not known how he'll be shown in the final but I think it's safe to say he'll still be an arms dealer.

No news on the return of Dr. Crane. Although I really hope he does return, albiet in a smaller role. Such as an encounter with the Joker, & that's where he gets the gas from. But he slightly modifies it to fit his needs. That would be good.

Thats a good idea, because we only saw Crane get electricuted and ride off, so hes still out there.

Yeah. If it continues right where Begins left off we'll probably see Crane. However if it's a plane ol' sequal we might only hear a mention of him. I'm really hoping for a plot like this, leading from the end of Begins & into TDK:
"The Arkham walls blow. Inmates spew out like a violent flood of humanity, infesting the already overcrowded Narrows. The microwave emiter is turned on & the gas envelopes Gotham. The pre-Joker(let's call 'im Jack for sanites sake) runs to the windw of his apartment to see what the sound was. He is infected by the gas & sees the Batman fly overhead. Frightened by the flying demon he tells his wife to leave the city. She runs outside to find the bridges closed. Mr. Zsasz adds one more victim to his list, the Joker's wife. Batman defeates Ra's Al Ghul, The Scarecrow hides in the Narrows after beng tazered, & the flow of the gas stops. Meanwhile.... Jack finds the corpse of his wife, & curses the flying demon. He runs back to the apartment & breaking the window on the glass cabinet, puts on a clown mask & enters the city, looking to kill the flying demon that killed his wife. Low on cash he breaks into the bank & kills the guards. Gets away with 2 million. He leaves a small card on the floor of the bank. Then retreats to an old warhouse in the narrows, till things slightly cool down. Batman is called to GCPD by the signal, shown the card etc.
After the incident in the Narrows the island is still under quarantine. Jack(pre Joker) pays Dr. Crane for some concentrated canisters of the gas. Jack then shoots Crane."
More to come later

Nice one Arkham, sounds like the dark touch that this movie has promised to supply. Can't wait to here somemore maybe incorperate two Face in some how, just I doubt the writers will make every VIllainous disaster part of Scarecrows poisons. Okay, I could deal with the Joker getting sick that way but if they did that to Two-Face I'd be a bit like: "Right! The Gas is Bad! We get it!"

thanks guys. I've got some more. Oh, this also stretches into #3.
"After shooting Crane, Jack flees the Narrows to Gotham before the cops find Crane's body. He's almost out of bullets, so he contacts Oswald Cobblepot for some new stuff. Oswald agrees to sell him some of his arms, & also for an extra price will have Jack's fear gas altered to fit his specifications.
Meanwhile, Crane is found by the cops in critical condition & rushed to Gotham General. Harvey Dent is gearing up for Election, Harleen Quinzell is now the head of Arkham, & Bruce begins rebuilding the Manor. The Batman goes hunting for this clown killer after being warned by Gordon. Jack with his new arsenal goes hunting for "the flying demon what killed his wife". Batman aprehends Jack at Sionis' company who's name I forgot. Jack escapes by flinging himself into the dranage lines which run under the plant where they make their stuff. The Batman believes him dead & tells Gordon to dredge the river where the drainage line empties. Jack is found unconsciouce floating in the river. & imediately sent to Gotham General.
The chemicals had begun to erode the mask he was wearing, making it almost impossible for them to remove it. Eventually they pry it off & find his face horribly disfigured & twisted much like the mask. Days later, due to a mild concusion Jack awakens in the Hospital. He freaks, riping out all the tubes & wires, & needles, he flees the hospital in a grip of rage & panic. He, of coarse blames the Batman."

Thanks a lot. I always thought that WB should let the fans write the plots for comic book movies. That way almost 100% of 'em love 'll love the movie. So here's some more of mine: "Fleeing the hospital, he catches the eyes of several orderlies, who later on the news report that a man escaped ITC. He looked like..... a clown. So Jack runs barefoot & almost bare *** through the city(afterall he is weaing a paper hospital gown). After running a few blocks or so(by the way his face should remain hidden for now he spies a clothing store, with a full suit, complete with jacket & hat in the window. He breaks through the large window & into the store, which lucky for him has no alarm. Yanking the suit & dummy out of the display window he proceeds into the store itself & finds a storage closet with a cracked mirror. Jack begins to put on the suit. (the suit looks a tad like the Alex Ross tux, a tad like the B:TAS suit, a bit like the Hush suit, with a smidge of Jack Nicholson, & Neo for good measure) (use your imagination, I can't figue out the best way to discribe what I see) the full suit is on, the coat, the gloves, the hat. Which are a dark purple. He slowly lifts his head to gaze into the mirror. We finally see the hideous grinning face, & the learing eyes of THE JOKER. Meanwhile... Harvey Dent is waiting backstage to give is speach. He is after all the new D.A. After his introduction by the Mayor he walks out onto the stage, the crowd cheers vehemently. He gives his speech about how he will serve justice in Gotham, reclaim the Narrows, etc. (all ending with the Narrows part in which he lifts his hans & speaks dramatically, as the music swells & it suddenly cuts to the next scene) The GCPD is still a fightin' in the Narrows, with the aid of the Batman they finally bring in Mr. Zsasz who is locked back in Arkham under the orders of Dr. Quinzell. Dr. Crane's doin much better now, he's still abit mad, but he's steadily recovering from the fatal wound. He is sent to Arkham to undergo treatment for both mental & physical health." More to come....

Here is a recent interview with Michael Caine. There isn't that much information about Batman on here, but it does have some information on The Prestige if you look at the interview in its entirety. www.superherohype.com/news.php?id=4741

Although the Nolans haven't said anything about it I believe Oswald may still be involved. As for Blackmask, it seems unlikely do to the Embargo
