BB of course, ff doesn't look like it has that much story, but i will watch it anyways. For 2 reasons: to compare and contrast, and Jessica Alba. ;D

Replace any female lead with Jessica Alba and the world would be at peace.

Although I don't quite have an affinity for Jessica Alba like everyone else here (I like em in the Famke Janssen variety) I didn't think FF was that bad. The cheesy parts that were in every preview and so on weren't that bad in the over all film. Here's what kept it from being a good film. Dr. Doom had absolutely no plot or scheme or any supervillain type of motivation. He just wanted to kill the Fantastic Four basically out of revenge. No one was in danger and the FF really didn't save anyone after their first appearance. They're not really superheroes, they're just superpeople in it. On the plus side, there's another great John Ottman score in the world now.

FF is something i may check out when it's released on DVD but that's about it.Jessica is great eye candy but that's not enough for me to go to the Theatre. Now BB,if i could possibly swing going to the Theatre once a week to see it i would, need i say more?

Jessica Alba is very, very beautiful I'd agree with that - as long as she doesn't try to talk. Ever. I've seen interviews with her and she comes across - to me - as dumb as a box of rocks. Of course, that's just my perception.

FF just looks like 'another' superhero flick.
Batman Begins separated itself from all the other superhero movies that came out.

I have seen both films, and Batman Begins is the far more superior film, with it's acting, storyline, set & costume design, etc... FF could have been a good movie, but I thought it was too silly at times, and had no point. Julian McMahon does a decent job as Dr Doom, but they barely use him!

[shadow=red,left,300]There's no contest, Begins owns FF. Marvel's latest effort isn't worth my hard earned money. Perhaps down the road it will be worth a rental to kill a weeknight, nothing more.[/shadow]

To me, FF LOOKS more amazing than BB with all the special effects they did. BB didn't have that much "lightshow" and CGI. BB is more thought out of than FF, while FF is very campy with all the idiotic jokes they tried to put in. The only reason if FF beat BB at the box office this week is bc BB is been around longer. FF is basically jsut marvel got scared about DC actually comnig bck to doing films and throwing it 2gether at the last minute no competion. True That.

I appreciate that Nolan refused to make a movie that's full of CGI. After watching Spidey 2 I thought to myself that they seriously need to lay off of all that CGI stuff. It doesn't look as advanced as they think it does. To me many scenes in Spidey 2 looke like a friggin playstation game.

I voted for Begins even though I havent seen FF but I know BB will be better-primarily because it would be a tough act for ANY superhero flick to top IMO-it was a masterpiece.also i never expected FF to be better and dont believe it was panic by Marvel either. I will like FF because I liked all the other"rubbish" ::)superhero movies like Daredevil and Punisher so I am sure i will like it and buy it.I buy all superhero movies(except for Catwoman and Elektra ) as far as being the new Batman&Robin goes/it will have a long way to go and I mean a LONG way before its worse than Catwoman and even though I havent seen FF yet i can safely say that.

I just saw FF, and Batman kicked their butt! ;D Dr. Doom was more like Electro and looked like the Terminator. And their was little action and too much comedy. It's Batman and Robin all over again. Marvel's just trying too hard.

The ONLY way that I would have possibly chosen the FF over Batman Begins is if it would have had the Galactus storyline, and it was done AS WELL. But there's no way! Anyway...the FF was good enough that I believe that it will have a sequel. The Fantastic Four was much more kid-friendly than Batman, and IMO, that's Okay! There room enoug for both franchises! I'm nowhere near the FF fan that I am For Batman, but I have followed them almost as long, and I can tell you that the movie pretty much nailed the essence of the books. The Human Torch and The Thing outshined everybody else, and yes, there was a lot of comedy in the movie, but go back to the glory days of the book, and you'll find a light-hearted, comical overtone to a lot of the stories. There wasn't much of a plot, but then again, there wasn't much of a plot in the first book...The Mole Man attempted to take over the world. My big thing was Dr. Doom. I just think that they should have stuck to the original plot and tied him into the FF later in the movie. No, Batman will always be tops, and in this case, as well. I would predict that the FF will begin running out of steam around between the $130-150 million mark.

I love this quote from Roger Ebert:
"And the really good superhero movies, like "Superman," "SpiderMan 2" and "Batman Begins," leave "Fantastic Four" so far behind that the movie should almost be ashamed to show itself in the same theaters."

I've was pumped up to see Begins for nearly a year, and I've never felt like that before, and probably won't be again till the sequels release date is announced. seeing the trailers for FF, it does absolutely nothing for me.
I've had enough of a CGI fill from Star Wars:ROTS to last me a lifetime...
and I also though Spidey 2 was pretty mediocre, I couldn't see what all the fuss was about, just loads of CGI and sentimental mushy-ness. I agree with the playstation game comment.
I hope Begins will be the most successful of the year, but with the SW franchise coming to a head this year, it probably wont happen.

This weekend, FF made about 56 million dollars compared to BB's 46 million dollars from Fri to Mon. Damn it. Oh well, I know FF sucks!!!!!! The only reason why they made it to 56 mil is bc of Jessica Alba as the Celebrity actress.

Like I said in another thread, switch out Katie Holmes for jessica alba and begins would've owned FF in the box office.

But because FF is more kid-friendly, and BB more adult oriantated, FF wion't be able to catch up with BB. I'm guessing 150 mil for FF is a sure bet.

haven't seen FF yet love jesica alba but wouldn't be able to call myself a Bat-maniac if i voted otherwise.BB was somuh more than a super-hero flick it had substance with every character, well thought out storyline not a single glitch that needed on-line segues to bail out.Bale was born to play BW/Bats like liev schreiber for h.dent or crispin glover for the joker
