Looks like we're gonna be spending at least $100 on DVDs in October (well, most of us)! Kinda bummed that U2s "Hold me, Thrill me, Kiss me, Kill me" video isn't an extra on the Batman Forever disc but oh well...
As cool as this is, these special editions of movies already released on DVD is not only putting a hole in my wallet but taking up more and more space around my cave. I mean, this DVD set is what I always thought it should have been in the first place but this is gonna be the third complete set of Batman films I have (VHS, first DVD box set and now the anthology). All I need is a 1966 special edition DVD to come out to even things out...LOL.
Still excited though!

Ah, but that would cost money, my friend, and WB doesn't want to pay royalties to U2...Still, it would have been cool to have that on DVD, seeing as how it was nominated for an award (acadamy?...I can't remember...)for best song... BTW...They've (basically) already come out with a special edition for the 1966 movie...(see, below URL) It won't come with as many extras/ featurettes as the *ahem* real movies will, mainly (this is just a theory) because Fox owns the rights to the television show and WB owns the character license...images.amazon.com/images/P/B00005LOUK.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Yeah, it's getting out of control on the Batman DVDs. Not complaining, but I just have B:TAS Vol 1 and none of the animated movies on DVD. I guess it will make XMas easier on my wife this year.

Yeah, but that video was still pretty cool itself...the animated Batman orchestra and all. I have the '66 SE DVD...just thought they need to compliment it so I have 3 of each DVD LOL! BTW, the boxes look nice but are they the real DVD covers or the cheap cardboard boxes that WB seems to like giving us? Picking it up either way but I would just like to know. ;D Thanks though! ^ Same with me, actually ;D ...Though, I did put both B:TAS Vol 2 & 3 on my x-mas list, as well as MotP [Mask of the Phantasm], which, IMO, was the best animated movie of them all...

the U2 video would have been cool on the Forever dvd. is it a cartoon video with Bono having slick black hair? I think i once saw a few seconds of it.

[shadow=purple,left,300]Yep, the video was indeed animated. Bono looked a lot like the Joker, from what I remember. There were clips from Forever, and plenty of bat-imagery. At the end of the song, which is called "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me," the guitar/bass riffs are replaced with various string instruments and at the end of the video, there are several Batmans playing in the 'orchestra.'
I believe the video is on their website, www.u2.com, or on one of their DVD releases.[/shadow]

I was always a big fan of the "logos" that went along with the movies. I have all of the teaser posters framed in my room, so for me, I'm happy with the region 2 dvd covers. Hopefully, we'll get the same region 1.

I think that my favorite logo movie poster was the Batman Returns one/ theatrical release poster...I don't know why I like it, maybe it's because I just love penguins, cats, and bats, even before I ever saw the movie...I agree with you though; I hope that for those like you and me who live in region 1, we get the same covers that those in region 2 will get...

I hope that Region 2 can have an Anthology but with the Region 2 art - but that the art is for all Regions!

I went on www.play.com and each dvd will cost £15.00 each!! However that is not my point of the post - the dvd features are classified as 'not official' so we may be getting the deleted footage i was hoping for!
At the moment it appears NO Anthology for Region 2 but i am possitive that it will change!

Not bad looking, I like how the backs seem to have a common format going for them. I really can't wait for these S.E.s to be released.

I just sold my 'Batman Collection' 4 film dvd box set on ebay, in preparation for the SE versions.
I figured if I left it too late, I'd buy the SE versions and be lumbered with the 'old' boxset too, which no-one would want to buy. but while most people are in the dark about upcoming Bat releases, its a good time to get rid of the older dvds if you want/need to.
