I like the design of Batman a lot. I'm a huge U2 fan and collector, so the Edge doing the theme is really cool.
The Joker design is horrible and an unneccesary revamp to make him "hipper" (Rhasta?) The Captain Power interactive toys to the show seems kind of hokey. The news about a younger "hipper" Bruce Wayne makes me wary. As do the rumors of the variant green and purple costumes being something he uses.

I'll check it out and all.. but I'm still a little stunned over the new Joker.
Scarecrow looks great however.
A younger/hipper Wayne makes my stomach turn.

Funny caption to Halle's pic, Joker inc. Can't stand her or the fact that she got away with a DUI hit and run. WB just figured they had the wrong fashion desginer turned director with stunt casting and no relation to the comics when they did Batman and Robin. This director has only one name, Pitof!

From what I've seen I like it...Much edgier looking villians. The only thing I'm not to keen on is the Bruce Wayne design. Although the figure looks cool. PJ

That's the attitude WB wants you to have. Were you happy or feel lucky with Batman and Robin or Birds of Prey or Catwoman? It's a consumer based market, so WB makes money off stuff people want to consume. There's no reason to put out quality products if even the people who have criticism or complaints buy the stuff anyhow. That kept Hasbro's Bat-line aflot for years past it's expiration, even if collectors only make up 20 or 30% of the market. The only constructive criticism that will never be ignored is from the wallet.
I hope this cartoon is good, but it doesn't look like it will be from what they've shown so far. the Batman character design is the only one I like and the hipper stuff and the batwave just sound dreadful. I'm not knocking people who have a different opinion and that think the "updates" and new designs look good. Different strokes for different folks. I just don't get the people that don't like the designs hyping the cartoon before they see it and feeling "lucky" that they get a cartoon.

I like most of what I've seen so far. I think the Joker looks good(He definately looks crazy). I will admit however that when I hear the word "hipper" I do get a little nervous about what direction the stories will be heading in. I really hope that we won't be seeing the variant costumes on the show because flourescent green, purple, and orange won't excatly strike fear in the hearts of criminals. All in All though I'm looking forward to the show and I hope it will introduce a whole new generation of fans to the Batman.

PJ [shadow=green,left,300]I believe the Bruce design has been altered since the one you've seen PJ. I for one am very excited about this new toon. Alan Burnett is consulting on it and Jeff Matsuda (Jackie Chan Adv) did the art direction, with Greg Weisman (gargoyles) writing. There's a great team on this one. No, its not Dini/Timm, but that wasn't going to happen whether this new toon came out or not....I'm very willing to welcome it with open arms, should it be as good as anticipated![/shadow]

[shadow=green,left,300]That's because the worst Batman cartoon is better than the best of any other. Honestly, not everyone may like the new toon, but I ask you to not knock it before you try it, so to speak. You haven't even seen an episode, so don't be so quick to judge. Give it a fair chance. People hated BTAS at first..then they hated Batman Beyond. It worked out for most fans in the end. Sure its new, but it may grow on you. Now, on the subject of Catwoman..thats another story [/shadow]

I was just chatting with Punisher and he said he couldn't get into the site and it told him he was banned, but he couldn't figure out why. Is it because of the above post? He didn't dump on anyone, just stated his own opinion. [shadow=green,left,300]No, Punisher is not banned. We're having an issue with the IP address he posts from, its a banned one. I just updated our list of banned IPs from the old forum this morning. He and I are getting it sorted out via email. Thanks for your concern! Oh, and the Batman is gonna ROCK! ;D[/shadow]

I'm back, thanks for the concern Det 27 and I had a good chat. Also, I wasn't trying to be offensive with my earlier post as I've supported things well past the death of quality because of rabid fandom. I just think that I probably helped Batman stay in the Shumacher/Hasbro limbo for the past 7 years by not being more discriminating sooner.
I hope the cartoon does rock. I'm just skeptical until I see it. I was really looking forward to Birds of Prey as I love the comic. I watched for a few weeks, hoped it would get better, but it didn't. Catwoman is one of my favorite comics each month, and they some how got that movie from that character? Makes Julie Newmar, Earth Kitt, and <can't recall the one in the movie right now> look Oscar worthy. The Batman can only surprise me and prove my wariness wrong. It already has the advantage of having a cooler looking Batman than Timm's. I didn't like Timm's Joker, but I really can't wrap my head around the new one. Anyone see Two-Face yet? I missed Scarecrow in Member's only when it was up.

[glow=Navy,2,300]I love the style of the series. It looks so creepy and I like this. All I have see so far looks very promising (Joker, Batman, Scarecrow...) Hopefully they don't spoil Poison Ivy (if she is in the series) because then I would change my opinion [/glow]

So far I like what I’ve seen of The Batman a lot. Batman looks very cool, The Joker does not look as bad as the figure does and Scarecrow looks awesome. The glimpse of the others (villains) leads me to believe that they will be just as good.
This Will Be BTAS For A New Generation!

I like the Jokers design. It makes him look mad, as in crazy or a pshyco, which he is. And the thought of a younger Bruce Wayne sounds cool.

mmm... Things I like about it: its a new show The toys look good the batwave batmobile ROCKS the batwave thing sounds fun the batcave is AWESOME! longer cape in the figure ROCKS!!
ThingsI hate: word "hipper" Joker batman using the toy's suits IN the show Animeish look like samurai jack and just plain anime shiz(I loathe anime) Causing cancellation of animated comic Batman adventures
It balances out pretty okay, so i'll give it a chance, but THERE are some deffinite problems with it. WB should STOP thinking about the kids for a bit and THINK about the 30% that is the fans.

I'm keen as Mustard for this series to get underway.I love the concept of a younger Bruce starting out and have no issue with changes to certain characters.I believe it will be an excellent series and one i can't wait to get into.
