- Lost Heroes Part One -
The episode was good but only for a build up to the finale which must happen in Lost Heroes Part Two. I must apologize now about the quality of the images I’m providing as I have absolutely no idea how to get screen caps but the images gives you a taste at least.
-Synopsis-
Superman and Batman are taking down Toyman {who sounds remarkably like the V.A. from Superman the animated series} His toys are defeated by both Bats and Sups. However somebody sets off Toyman’s explosives; knocking Toyman out and causing Superman to vanish leaving Batman looking puzzled.
The Flash and Green Arrow are at a carnival in Central City; they enter the hall of mirrors to catch Mirror Master. After he is taken down quickly; gas fills the room and The Flash is taken leaving Green Arrow by himself.
He goes to the batcave where he and Batman are joined by Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter. They mention that Hawkman has also been taken but none can understand why. They than question why Batman and Green Arrow weren’t and they soon establish that it’s because they do not have ‘super’ powers.
They return to Central City – where Martian and Green Lantern are taken out in an explosion. We see robotic/Alien looking devises removing them. Batman returns to the batcave and receives a vision from Martian saying “Hugo Strange”.
Batman with Robin and Arrow go to Arkham where Joker makes a brief cameo {no dialogue though}. Hugo Strange is in his cell; silent which sparks a fight where it is revealed he is an android made by The Joining.
Batman with the others; track the devices remote controlled signal where they become trapped by Hugo Strange. Who reveals last time they attacked and the inmates of arkham were left to die at the hands of the aliens. He like many escaped; however on his way a defeated robot crashes in front of him were he takes most of the data back to his new hideout.
There he manages to contact The Joining’s leader and makes a bargain with them that if he turns over the Justice leagues powers to them; Hugo in return learns all the secrets of the universe. Hugo also tells how he told The Joining that Batman was the most intriguing member yet The Joining didn’t want him.
Batman manages to break free and destroy the droids with Robin and Arrow. They free the Justice members who are all weak from being ‘drained’. Suddenly though 5 droids resembling Superman; Lantern; Martian; Hawkman and Flash are released. Robin questions “What do we do now?”
To be concluded…
- Personal Thoughts -
Well firstly I wont big it up and make out it’s the best episode of the series or season; but it wasn’t.
Strange’s obsession with knowing things goes with the character we met in season 2.
The flashbacks to the season 4 finale were great as they didn’t use the same animation clips.
The Justice League together at last was nice {Hawkman was the only non speaking role out of them.}
Animation wasn’t the best from a show that was flawless in that department – yes the fast paced action was there but not the flashes and freeze frames like earlier seasons. But good was facial expressions were done trully well. And the dream sequence was very well animated.
Toyman; was he necessary; um I wouldn’t say he was but good to see him – I wish In ways the series opener wasn’t two parts as this season feels short having two 2 parters. Anyways his design is not the best I put this down to not having Jeff Matsuda involved.
Mirror master again didn’t have much plot and a hall of mirrors as pointed out by The Flash is cliché of him. But makes sense when you think about it…
Like I said it just to open the finale up but where was Batgirl?? Maybe she is the one who saves the day? Who knows but I want cameos from a lot of The Batman’s supporting cast. It is after all The Batman not The Justice League. But overall a solid Season 5 episodes. The second part I imagine will be better.
Overall –
8/10 for animation from a show usually 10/10 7/10 for storyline 9/10 for Voice Acting
I will give it an 8.5 as im thinking i may have been to judgemental. SRA

This is a rather disappointing end to the series... I think the mistake of the show was bringing in new people. The first season batman was original, fresh, modernized in a non-retarded way. Then Barbra Gordon comes along and all of a sudden, Batman is dependent on her. (Freakin' crutch #1.) Then they add Robin, (crutch #2) and then what doya know?! All these superheros come out of the wood work so often that the show is barely even about Bats anymore. In fact, Batman seems to have been squeezed out of the byline by his own show. This is not the end of The Batman, this is the crappy beginning of The Justice League. e_e

i thought it was a good episode but it did'nt really seem like the end to me, but i suppose with it being a batman show they don't want to end it completely and tie up all loose ends, after all batman goes on.
for an episode i'd rate it 9/10 for a series finale i'd rate it about 7/10

Just finished watching it. It didn't end as special or emotional as did JLU. It was just bland. I would have wanted maybe Alfred to been there, or make a cliffhanger by introducing Wonder Woman or even Black Canary...they just ended with them making a Teen Justice League, Teen Titans? ZzZzZz again, not sure what the WB's plans our after this, if its the Brave and the Bold or a spin off...but I am really sad that this show has ended...and that shows like Johnny Test and Skunk Fu got the greenlight for next year...These is no justice.

Im really indifferent to the cancellation of this cartoon. I always worked on Saturdays so I was never able to watch the series. I always had to wait until the seasons came out on DVD. I was never a big "fan" of the show, it was just another Batman cartoon to me.
I started my vacation today so I was actually able to watch the finale. It didnt even seem like TB to me, it was more Justice League. (mind you, Ive only seen seasons 1,2, &3) I didnt see anything special about the episode, it was just another JL takes on alien invaders story. Very predictable. My personal opinion on it based on the seasons I have seen is, it was a mediocre ending to a mediocre show.

My personal opinion on it based on the seasons I have seen is, it was a mediocre ending to a mediocre show. Pretty much sums up my perspective as well. Always considered the show poorly conceived and poorly executed w/ a handful of exceptions. Found the "finale" to be par for the course... weak and underwhelming. Still too bad they couldnt have gone out with some kind of impressive / improved "bang". Im sorry to the big fans of the show, and I wish the creators continued success and prosperity. But I'm really not at all broken hearted to see it end. If for no other reason than it opens the door to new, and hopefully "better" opportunities.

I enjoyed it. I thought the writing was very clever(I especially liked Batman's "Just don't ask me if we're there yet" and Batgirl's "We need to talk serious boundaries" lines. I've never liked the voice acting, so that was no surprise to me. MM's voice and Flash's voice were all wrong, IMO. As for the way it ended, yeah pretty predictable, but not bad. I have to say my two favorite things about this ep were the Hall of Justice floating in space(I know we've seen it before, I just think it's very cool) and the old-school Toyman design! That rocked! 2& 1/2/4 stars IMO

I liked it, but it didn't actually feel like an ending to the show. It just felt like a regular season finale. We need another season to give the show a proper send-off.

It was really nice of WB to splice the eps together for a nice sendoff.
Overall I enjoyed it. I agree with the people here that Hawkman and GL "losing" their powers was kinda weird, but I guess it was needed to advance the story. You also have to remember that this is a kids show, so its not like much mental capacity is needed. Glad to see all the villains. Liked Toyman. Did John Larroquete voice Mirror Master and Toyman in this ep ? Also nice to hear everyones voice, no recasts or characters without lines. Liked Dr. Strange, especially at the end when he had all that knowledge but still was cognizant. Would have made a great season 6 ep. Dr. Strange, equipped with all the knowledge in the universe, going against the Batman. The ending seemed like a rehash of the end of season 4. Batman and his sidekicks with Martian Manhunter, but it was cool, a kind of full circle thing. Glad Robin and Batgirl were a big part of the final battle and defeat of the Joining. Loved how Batman could block mind reading with electronics. Really enjoyed Green Arrow. Really liked his arrowjet. Kinda convenient that Batman knew how to use joining tech. Funny how the reporter described it as the JL attacking the city. You'd think they'd be able to look up and see that they were robots. The idea of Batman making contingencies against his fellow leaguers was classic. Really loved that.
Once again, I liked it. DrGreenEvil

I enjoyed the final episode, alot of good stuff in there that has already been mentioned.
One thing that I really enjoyed was near the end, when Batman and Robin teamed up to take down the main Joining Villian, they jumped into action. To me it was really cool because that's the way all Batman cartoons should be, just about Batman and Robin.
I am hoping that we will get a New Justice League cartoon out of this or a Brave and The Bold or World's Finest, because like a few of us have already mentioned this feels more like a begining of a new series as opposed to a finale

It was a nice way to end the season, but I felt it lacked in terms of ending a whole series. The ending seemed very rushed as do most episodes in The Batman (for some reason, they could never find a good way to an end an episode w/o seemingly having to rush it). Maybe a 3-parter would have let it have more time to add in details and make it more epic. But we got what we got. I just can't believe its all over though
