To anyone involved with the show/film....we'd love to get a nice pic of Dracula, now that we've seen the cover...I'm sure the art on the cover doesn't do your design justice...so, you could always send a pic over *cough, cough, hint hint*

Here's an interesting scoop LoG is bringing you first...apparently, Mattel is not doing the figures included with the DTV set....thus, its my belief that they're not so much action figures as perhaps PVCs of some kind....

That's interesting Matt. Any word on what size they'll be? Will they be something similar to the Iron Giant figure that came packaged with the VHS release years ago?

well finding out that Mattel is not making the figures for this movie really threw off my plans.
We all assumed that since this is a "The Batman" movie and since Mattel makes "The Batman"action figures, that they would be Mattel action figures for the movie. Well my plan was to just get the movie and the giftpack, even if to me it seemed a little pricey for a just a movie and two figures. Basically sight unseen. But now that all the "action fiugre" in the end might be are stupid little pvc's, if thats the case Im gonna rent if first just to see if I even like it.
Theres very few ways now this will turn out good. 1 - is if for some reason the wb just gave the series rights to mattel and they gave the movie rights to another company. BUt that doesnt make sense. 2 - is if they are made by DC Direct . Than yeah the $35 would be worth it. But then I have a feeling we'd be stuck with nothing but a generic Batman and generic Dracula. Both figures having nothing to do with the cartoon. 3- Or whatever company that makes them makes them more like dollar store action figures.
But in the end theyll probably be nothing but 3inch PVC's making the giftset almost not worth it. If they have artiiculation and fall around the 4 inch range they might still be worth it. BUt maybe IM being long winded and pessimistic.

Just my two cents, adjusted for inflation: The figures in question would almost have to be what we think of as PVCs, in terms of size anyway. Attaching even one Mattel "the Batman" scaled figure would really eat up the space inside a shipping cartoon. (And WB will want to ship as many units as cheaply as possible.) Two would just be bigger than the DVD itself! So I think Reideen's right, and we'll see some little PVC figurines like the Iron-Giant VHS release years ago.

Thats exactly what I think...as I said PVCs. I'm sure we won't know until Oct or Nov, though. sigh. Honestly, either way its pretty cool that we get the option of them, and I'll be picking it up either way. I'm just a slave like that.

Expect PVCs. I don't know, guys... I still think that it will be cool. Far better than nothing at all. I just think that it will be cool to have a toy of any sort based on something I worked on.
Not to mention, if the DTV is profitable enough....you never know, maybe we will get to see actual DTV figures. That's my hope anyway.

See, I'm coming from the same place as you on this one. I didn't expect to see ANY merchandise related to the DTV, so I'm excited about it! I guess thats just the hardcore fan/collector in me!

I totally agree! I purchased the Iron Giant VHS specifically for the little figure that came with it. Of course, I'm a big robot guy as much as I am a Batman fan, so maybe that makes me the exception. I still think it will be a cool promotion and I'll be getting the gift set just to have the figures.

Ok I have changed my mind,
If there anything like the toy that came with the IRON GIANT movie than I will get them. Just when I think pvc I think of little plastic statues. Like the old inch and a half power ranger toys they came out with when it first started. Or the kind of toys that go on birthday cakes. But like i said if they are anything like the iron giant packaged toy they might still be worth it.

Is there any chance these have articulation and/or the little bases come off ? Cant stand when they call little plastic statues action figures.
