Now that JL/JLU and the Timmverse together is done, which means the characters there are gone too sadly, what will Matsuda do after The Batman?
He has said Superman of course and Wonder Woman, which I WANT him to do. But what else? Doing Superman would be a given since thats next in line, Wonder Woman would be not just for the movie but because that would be different since there hasn't been an actual Wonder Woman animated show.
Then hit it off with JLA next.
So, in their possible titles:
The Batman Superman: The Animated Adventures Wonder Woman: The Amazing Amazon JLA
Thoughts?

Hmmm toughie. On one hand I adore Mr. Matsuda's talent and style but on the other hand I have very little desire to see all The Batman's overall sensabilities Etc. continue beyond The Batman itself. I do not personally want to see this become the "standard" nor see the rest of the DCU receive the "The Batman" treatment. At best I would enjoy seeing some guest appearances on The Batman. I would like to see Matsuda tackle other projects.

I say we should keep Batman in his own universe. Don't let him team up with other heroes, let this be his own show.
As for what Matsuda would do after The Batman, it doesn't have to be DC. I think he would be great on a new Spider-Man show.

The reason why I suggested Supes, and WW was because they're great characters and I don't want even Wonder Woman in JL/JLU or the rest of those characters being the only animated incarnations for 20-30 years until the next incarnation or ever.
Even Matsuda wants to tackle Superman and Wonder Woman also.

I totally agree to All Star. Matsuda's got a great art depiction of a new Spiderman series and I'd just love to se it animated. I bet it would be amazing!

I began to think of this: how long do you think TB will last? 5 seasons like X-Men: Evolution got, Teen Titans and together of JL/JLU? Or will they break away from that and do more seasons than regular shows these days have?
Because if 5 is what they'll get and have, they better bring more of dark elements to the show and quick.

As much as I would like to, I don't see the Batman going more than five seasons without SOME level of re-structuring...be it spin-offs or perhaps a new JLU!

I knew it. They gotta make it dark. I read one of the interviews and Matsuda said he is explaining the steps Batman took from the young, fully trained, learning the ropes masked avenger to the slightly older ('30-ish lets say), DARK-er knight capred cursader.
I did have this new idea for Season 4, the next DTV, and season 5. Where can I post that?

Back in the begining we all took a shot at guessing how many seasonsThe Batman would end up running... If I recall, Matt estimated "4" and I didnt anticipate more than "2". I am still somewhat surprized it has gone this far personally. For the most part, I still give most the credit for it's longevity and appeal to it's name vallue. Nothing against the creative team or even the show itself really, just the name Batman carries a lot of weight and a substantial built in fan base (God bless us everyone: ). As I said earlier, I wouldnt want to see this manifest and grow beyond what it is now. I wouldve loved to see it evolve and change itself but at this point I consider it too late for that to be natural or acceptable to me. The Batman should remain the same and remain it's own IMO. Im not apposed to Matsuda or similar creators getting the chance to do more such projects, I would just prefer they be entirely new projects with new directions and no attachements to The Batman.

You may be right but change always happens, reformating always happens, re-structuring always happens, all this to the shows to move it along, evovle, and enhance, improve.
Matsuda said this series is all about Batman becoming to the point he is now int he comics and what he rememebr him as. That's why I think Robin will be a teenager so Nightwing can be introduce in this series early than never.
That's why I believe my idea can work (BTW, where can I post that again?).

At least not in the way we're talking or youre describing? At this juncture, an abrupt about face or change in tone, sensibility or direction wouldnt fit or feel natural and I would say would be inappropriate and counter productive? Especially since the fourth season may very well be the last? Natural progression and evolution is expected and welcome. Essentially gratuitous or "forced" momentum / evolution is to me as bad or even worse than stagnancy. I would personally rather see it run it's course and move on to something else than see it try to be something it's not?

Well I would agree to that. But the show has been moving on and been enhancing and improving its "traits" since its first season. Thats why I say if 5 is the total for it and these days, they should at least put their plan in fast forward and it make it darker. And with a character like Robin and his origin, they really do that in a light substance.
Just one question, Batlaw; why do you put question marks on sentences that aren't questions?

I don't know, guys. Compared to BTAS and how great the whole Timmverse was, I'm losing interest in TB. I'm in the like/dislike zone. I think they have to go back to the drawing board.
We need to talk to Matsuda.

Jeff isn't the only creative mind on the show, ya know. There is a number of great producers, writers and directors that also have a say in the direction.
I know I'm in the minority, but I honestly don't want the Batman to take a "darker" turn. This show is great as it is. Its a Batman I can let my son watch without worrying about any inappropriate content. I think all levels of Bat-toons are necessary...those for youth (The Batman, Teen Titans), and those for adults (BTAS, JLU)....EVERYONE should be able to enjoy the Bat! I personally get a kick out of all the ranges of shows.
