I haven't seen this on LoG yet (my apologies if I missed it), but Comics Continuum has a short item in voice actor Lex Lang who has done work for Season 5 of the Batman. He spills the beans on not only who HE'LL be playing, but on some actors returning to reprise their Justice League roles. Lex Lang - Metallo, Clayface, Mayor George Newburn - Superman Clancy Brown - Lex Luthor He also talks about how much he enjoys working with voice director Andrea Romano. Read the whole article here: www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0702/20/index.htm

George Newburn and Clancy Brown played those same characters on Justice League.
The thing I find interesting about this, is after all the early confusion when this series started about whether it was meant to fit into the continuity of the various Bruce Timm series (it WASN'T), this would seem to imply some effort to bring them back together.
Alan Burnett and Andrea Romano, what ARE you cooking up?
Chris

Luthor is coming? Sounds interesting, but at least its Clancy Brown, since he's already having a role as Freeze in this series.

This is part of that wave of JL characters I was hinting about. We'll see a LOT of that in season 5. It'll be a whole different show.

;D I so want to see Metallo, Supes and Lex character designs for The Batman. Clancy Brown is Lex Luthor, to me anyway. I'm glad they're going with him. I can't wait for Season 5.

That all sounds very different Hope there is still enough room for Ivy, Riddler, Catwoman and our other favorit villains! And thanks for the info Chris, it is interesting that the JLU voices return! And I think Metallos going to look awesome! Hey MATT, can you maybe tell us whos working on the designs? Jose Lopez is doing Sups, right? Is he also doing Metallo and Lex? I am so excieted to see all this new characters in the Matsuda-universe! Hope Mattel is doing figures too... I was just thinking, are there chances to see Huntess on the show? Because she's a part of Gotham and was in the Justice League in the show and in comics and with all the heroes showing up, could she maybe too? Just thinking, because I really like this character!

Personally, I like the idea of bringing in the Justice League for season five. I just hope the show stays on the same track, creatively. This past season has been a real hit.

That's pretty cool, bring the original JLU guys to voice their characters. Though I was hoping for new voices just to toss things up a bit. But man I'm really looking forward to this now.

Maybe they are going to do a crossover with the DCAU. Earth-1 and Earth-2 anyone?

I honestly dont like it. They tried so hard to show that BTAS and The Batman were not in the same universe, now they do this. Starting to wonder with Matsuda gone and them doing this, if this isnt gonna be the last season. Bringing the old voices back as kindof a tribute or throwback since it might be ending. Also I dont think Ive heard of a cartoon going past 5 seasons in general. Also I really dont like how they have tried to cram what was the Timmverse DCAU (BTAS - atleast JL) into one show. Yes THE BATMAN has done some different and unique things, but to me its starting to rely way to much on what has been done and was known to work. The figures though for season 5 should be neat to see. Wonder since the show is taking this route if they are gonna put The Batman figures under the DC Superheroes banner like what the 6in and JLU are under ?

i really dig the idea of a jla team up but i just hope they don't overdo it. And for once i'd like to see Kyle Rayner as the green lantern. I like these changes but i hope they don't forget this is a batman show and we need some new batman villains this season.

I agree with you on The Batman season 5 possibly coming to an end and that cartoons never live to see any further than a 5th season. Its kinda what happened to Season 5 of Teen Titans, it was the last one and they pulled on the stops on including all the other Titans. It was a great season too. But I really hope its not the end for The Batman after Season 5.

I'm not the biggest fan of crossovers, meaning not being a big fan of all the DC characters in the same universe, but that's what there is and I probably am making it sound like it bothers me more than it actually does (come one, if it lets Batman make others look bad, I'm for that b/c he does it so well . With that said, as for Season 5, I look forward to seeing how it's all done and if what I mentioned above with Batman happens, even though this Batman strikes me as more friendly than the Batman I interpret in the universe.

I hate this. Batman is the biggest name in the DC universe, so now they're trying to make everyone else popular by bringing them onto the Batman. I can stand one or two shows with Superman and Lex Luthor, one of my favorite old shows from STAS was the one where Batman and Superman teamed up to battle Lex and Joker. I solely watched that episode because Joker & Batman were in it.
The Joining and maybe one or two shows in season five is all I will abide, but if this turns into a revamp of JLU I will stop watching the Batman all together. They also need to bring in at least two more Joker & Harley shows, I mean Harley is just as big of a character as Joker, they should've either brought her in earlier or not at all.
This really makes me angry I just wanna see Batman not Superman, not Green Lanturn/Arrow, not Aquaman, if they want to bring back these characters they can get their own damn show, but if they are not popular enough characters to have their own show they should stick to the comics until they are popular enough.
Good night, this terrible news will haunt me forever.

I gotta admit, I do solely like Batman, but I'm going to give the JL a chance for this, but I just don't want them on here all season long. A couple episodes and that's it. The show's called "The Batman" not "The Justice League."

I think and I hope that the WB knows that this show is called The Batman. Even though they are introducing new ppl to the The Batman universe I don't think they're gonna make the whole season about it. Nothing wrong with guest appearances. But as for me I'm looking forward to it. Its always cool to see the new twist on the DC characters in the The Batman universe. Too bad Jeff Matsuda couldn't come up with the designs.

It's amazing how so many people were complaining at the beginning of the series that the show was straying too far away from the history of Batman, you know who you are. Slowly but surely they have introduced all of the elements that have made up Batmans history. And now the next logical step is to intorduce him to the JLA, which I am sorry if it bothers some of you out there, means putting them in some of the episodes so there is a relationship built. I myself think its great we are going to see these classic characters in the upcoming epsiodes.
Oh and we need to see Hal Jordan as the Lantern, not Kyle. We have already seen Kyle in an episode by Timm and company.

complaining at the beginning of the series that the show was straying too far away from the history of Batman, you know who you are. Slowly but surely they have introduced all of the elements that have made up Batmans history. And is it possible because of that complaining that they introduced those elements? I'll tell you that I strayed away after the first few episodes of Season 1 and didn't give the show a second chance until this past fall, when those elements returned. I've never been a fan of the JLA (of course, that might not be saying much since I didn't get pulled into the depths of the universe until last summer), but Batman is the one I believe to be the best and I find it hard to stand the others...unless Batman gives them a piece of his mind and they take, even if it's a punch to the face However, I'm not closed minded enough to just dismiss it all. I look forward to seeing how this version of Batman will interact with the JLA, so come on Season 5!
