www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=6371I have no insider scoop to offer on this one, gang. I saw this article this morning and was surprised by it. I already knew that The Batman was likely at the end of its run with Season 5, but a 6th Season seemed a remote possibility, if not some sort of new Justice League spin-off. Legion is only in it's second year, and I assumed had some life in it yet. Based on this article, there will be no room for them on their current network after next year. So do the shows move to Cartoon Network? Or are they just done?

My understanding of the article is that there is a five hour block of programming being created by the 4kids people that will be the entirety of CW's Saturday morning lineup. No superhero shows included.

Warner Bros. will do something. They're not about to let Batman leave the TV fans without something. Plus Sept. 08 is only 2 months after the Darkknight movie, so i'm sure they want to milk the hype.

They really don't say what is going to happen to the two shows. I would expect LoSH to continue for awhile longer after the season but where will they air the two? Cartoon Network makes sense, however...

Nowhere does that say that no superhero shows will be on there. I'm sure the Legion will continue with a 3rd season, Spider-Man will still on it's 1st season since it has 26 episodes, but I'm not sure about Batman. I hope it gets a sixth season, but history has shown DC shows don't last to a sixth season. I wouldn't bet on CN picking up The Batman. They'd rather have 20 stupid shows involving monkeys.

The point is that 4Kids is filling the five hours with all their own programming. Legion (and The Batman and any potential spin-off) is made by WB Animation. I would totally expect a third season of Legion, and for The Batman to continue, be spun-off from, or be replaced by a new animated incarnation of Batman given the hotness of the film series. But with the CW Saturday morning line-up full of five hours of 4Kids programming, where would these shows go?

This is absurd news... I was really mad after reading it. I don't even watch 4Kids programming cuz their Cartoons full of crap.
But I am sort of confused with the news... Does that mean that the CW channel will air 4Kids cartoon block? Or will the CW channel give their 5 hour block to 4Kids tv?
LOSH is having a great start this season. I expect Spider-man too keep going and yeah I expect some sort of run-off with Bats. Hopefully WB doesn't do anything stupid.

Ok guys...Chris brought up a great concern, so I felt inclined to contact some of our friends at the CW / Kids WB! network and get clarification for all of the fans of the Batman and Legion.
Shows like the Batman and Legion, as it has always been, will return if new episodes are desired and ordered. This new 4kids deal does not affect that in any way. Warner Bros Animation studios remain open and producing. Even if 4kids opts not to show all of the WB animaton shows, there are other avenues available in this day and age. For example guys..where does BTAS show regularly? On Disney's Jetix! These toons can be produced and ordered from anyone..so the possibilities are always open!
No one knows what will be produced for next fall yet. That was the case before this deal..its always up in the air until things are ordered until early in 2008! WB is producing SEVERAL new scripts and DTV ideas for the DC Universe line, besides just New Frontier...so look for more of that as well.
I hope this clears things up a little...this new development, again, means nothing in respect to our shows gang. Let me know if you have any questions!
remember, you read it here at LOG...the Batman Authority!

I really hope the GOOD kidswb shows just move to the new 4kids block. But really, does 4kidstv need another saturday morning block ? Doesnt that just mean they are competing with themselves ? Besides 95% of the stuff 4kids shows is crap. I liked Ultraman, the Stargate cartoon, and TMNT when they first started. But now its basically crap. Now they are basically gonna crapify saturday wb like they did fox. When this starts, saturday morning cartoons will be officially declared dead.

if anything they should get rid of pokemon! its already got a secure time and place on CN, with new shows every week just like WB, but its been there forever and it sucks! (it was only good like the first couple of episodes.)

This news is upsetting, for those of us bat-fans, collectors. Do they also know without a season 6 that runs up to the New batman movie this will also hurt toy sales,(cancel some lines??), comic and the total visibility of the character for the big push into the summer movie season. I also like the legion series if that is cut it seems like it barely got started. all the work getting these series going and keeping them afloat is well worth it when you see all the other horribile and bad cartoons out there. could they be doing a series of direct to DVD movies??? Chris nice having you aboard as a member and keep up the great work. Matt as ever excellent site!

Well at least some of the confusion is cleared up. Hopefully someone, somewhere picks up the shows. I would like to see it end up on Cartoon Network.
