[glow=purple,2,300]This is off of www.comicscontinuum.com. In all honesty, this issue looks great! (But I say that about almost all of the new Batman comics, so you really can't go by me.) Here it is~ FIRST LOOK: BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHTS #53 Batman: Gotham Knights #53 will arrive in stores on Wednesday, May 19 from DC Comics. The issue is by A.J. Lieberman, with art by Al Barrionuevo and Francis Portela and a cover by Lee Bermejo. Here's how DC describes the issue: "The arc of extra-length stories continues with a tale featuring Hush and guest-starring Green Arrow! One of the deadliest villains from Batman's past has returned, one so powerful he's even gone toe-to-toe with the JLA. But unknown to him, the mystery villain is the one with a target on his back this time, and the hunter in question is none other than Hush! Hush's quest takes him to Star City, where he must face not only Batman but Green Arrow, too." Batman: Gotham Knights #53 will be 40 pages and will cost $2.95. www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0405/12/bgc.jpgwww.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0405/12/bg1.jpgwww.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0405/12/bg2.jpgwww.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0405/12/bg3.jpgwww.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0405/12/bg4.jpg[/glow]

I was actually thinking more along the lines of the new movie batsuit-I think it was the ears and the insignia.

Well I picked this comic up today and I have to say it was AWESOME! I was surprised that Green Arrow got so mad at Batman, but I guess Oliver has always been grouchy. It was also awesome when Oliver shot an arrow at Batman when his back was turned and then Batman just spun around with a batarang and sliced it right in half!

This was the first issue of GK that I've picked up in.... years. GA is the reason I picked it up. While GA is nowhere near the fighter Bats is, a little voice inside my head was cheering for GA when he hit Bats. I thought "yeah!! this is some cool....stuff." I knew that Batman would come back and win out overall (especially since it's his book and all) but it was nice to see Ollie get a shot in.
Ollie and Bruce have always had kind of an undercurrent to them of mistrust in my mind. Ollie would rather operate in the open and doesn't agree with Bruce's desire to operate from the shadows and keep information to himself.
Also, maybe it's just me, but, have you noticed that Hush is becoming the "Venom" of the Batman books? Admittedly - I only browse - picking up an issue here and there as they catch my eye, but has he's been active in the book every month that I've looked recently.

I don't know much about the Venom comparison, but I can say that I think GK has gotten really good. All the Bat books in my opion seem to be having great stories or at least the ones I read ( Batman, Detective, GK, Batman & Superman)

[glow=purple,2,300]Yeah, this was once again a great issue. I was kinda amazed at how many hits GA got in on Batman though. In any case, I don't know who this new writer and artist are, but I hope they stay on for a long long time; this has been the most fun I've had in a GK issue in a long time. [/glow]
