[shadow=green,left,300]I picked up the first issue, Batman cover of course , and have skimmed some issues since, but was never really interested. I have to admit that Turner's artwork has gotten me iterested a bit, so I'd like to hear what everyone thinks of this book so far? What's been covered so far?[/shadow]

The first arc was abysmally bad...the one issue story was also incredibly poor. However the new story, with turner doing the art....it has been awesome so far, complete turn around for the book....

[glow=purple,2,300]In my opinion, this book has been knocking it out of the park each and every time! In the first arc S/B kicked Luthor out of the White House, killed Captain Atom, and delivered us a new Supergirl. Jeph and Ed have been at the top of the game, but this new arc is defiantly kicking the first's @$$. I love this book... [/glow]

I just bought the hardcover TPB for issues 1-6 (I finally decided I had to have it now!) and issues 7-10. I love Mcguiness's art work - I enjoyed it when he did the Fighting American, Superman, etc - so there's no difference now.

I mean he's no Jim Lee or Alex Ross, but it's just so "cartoony", candy-like, ...and well...fun that I just can't help but enjoy it. BTW: #1000 --->I don't even talk this much at home! [/glow]

I'm gonna have to side with PPain on this one. I like Ed's art. While I admit there are better Batman artists, I love his rendition of Superman. I've also heard people bash Turner's artwork too saying it has an unfinished appearance; but once again I think he's done a great job as well. Bottom line? The art's phenomonal. As for the storylines, I think Jeph's done a wodnerful job. I love how he incorporates little twists that turn into huge shockers. SPOILERS!!!! He's managed to sell all of Lexcorps' assets to Wayne Enterprises, taken Luthor out of the presidency, and replaced Harold with the new Toyman as Batman's mechanic/designer. In other words, I think he's done a good job of "cleaning up" the DC Universe in a sense. So the bottom line for the writing: wonderful So with good art, good writing, and cool characters what do you get? The Jedimario Seal of Approval

The only thing that I didn't like was the Toyman thing. I haven't liked that character since he appeared a few months back in one of the Superman titles. Just seemed like a lame concept.
McGuiness's art can take a little getting used to, but I have liked it for a while. It is pretty cartoony. Turner is doing an amazing job. I would like to see him do a run on one of the regular Bat-books.
I've always liked Loeb's writing, some of his stories change pace a little too much (one issue is really slow the next is really rushed), but overall they turn out well.

WOW I didnt know he was so popular.
But, honestly, I think he is one of the worst artists at DC at the minute.
The new issue was awesome too. Turners art just makes my jaw drop with ever new page. That guy NEEDS to do a run on nightwing, then my life would be complete...

That guy NEEDS to do a run on nightwing, then my life would be complete... [glow=purple,2,300]Amen to that. The Bat-Family books could definitely use some "superstar" artists on them. Except for BoP, Ed Benes' and Greg Land's work is amazing.[/glow]

I just got around to reading it today ( i'm a week behind and since i read all of the Bat-titles religiously i had to play catch up) and boy was it a great read. I've always been a fan of the Superman/Batman interactions and this is certainly not a let down. Batman once again deduces that the creatures were not sentient in origin so he pulls out some explosive bat-a-rangs and blows them to pieces. Was that awesome or what??

I think this book has been consistently one of the best since it's debut. I've enjoyed it more than Hush and more than any of the other Batman or Superman books since it's debut. The other Superman books are catching up in quality, while Batman's books go up and down. Jeph Loeb is THE best Superman writer, in my opinion, and does Batman well. Each book seems epic, the army of Doomsdays, Darkseid, etc. They feel like Grant Morrison's run on JLA. Loeb should get JLA.

[glow=purple,2,300]I just got around to getting S/B #10 and let me just say that this was amazing! I loved everything about it. I loved the fact that Batman is constantly suspicious of Supergirl...but the high point of the book was Batman with a battle axe disposing of the Doomsday clones with deadly efficiency.
If anyone can post a scan of page 12 and 15 I'd really appreciate it.[/glow]

[shadow=green,left,300]I was very impressed with #10. I immediately went out and bought #8 and #9!
What struck me most about this issue was near the end
SPOILERS
when the army of Doomsdays, which Turner draws amazingly, is battling with the Amazons....and Superman gets in the middle....I honestly don't care for Superman at ALL...but Turner made him look so menacing, I was actually finding myself rooting for the ol' boyscout.
I can't wait to see Supes, Bats and WW tear Darkseid apart.[/shadow]

Despite the fact I dont like his art, I think its great when artists still draw for fun in their own time rather than only for work.

I just got caught up on this series. I sat down and read issues 1 - 10. The first 6 issues by McGuinness were a little light in the story - excellent art. They set the groundwork for the later issues. They did an excellent job of establishing the unique relationship that Bats and Supes have - they have been at the hero thing for so long, it almost comes naturally to them when working together.
Issue 7 was my favorite - just because it's Pat Lee art and Superboy and Robin get their own jumbo robots to beat on Metallo with! ;D
Issues 8 - 10. The art and writing seem to really come together here. They compliment each other nicely. The story is strong - with the focus being on finding out the mystery of Supergirl. I really like how WW has been using her golden lasso in these issues..... nevermind. That's another story.
Seeing Supes taking all of the Doomsday clones out was cool, but Bats killing all those Doomsday clones was even cooler. I like how he figured out that they were clones.
I'm eagerly looking forward to the confrontation with Darkseid (and the return of Lex? We'll see....)!
