Hey everyone - for all of you reading War Games, I have some questions about some character appearances in Gotham Knights #56. I haven't been picking up any titles regularly since NML, although I try to keep up with basic storylines. I'll put a *spoiler* button here, but it only has to do with character appearances, so please read ahead if you think you can help...
*spoiler*
*spoiler*
On page 1, who is Hush's masked bodyguard?
On page 3, who are the "super-thugs" surrounding Penguin? I know Firefly is in the back (but is he going by "Firebug" now, and is he still Garfield Lynns?) but who are the other seven? The girl on the right with the sword looks like she might be Lynx from the first "Robin" mini-series, but I don't know.
*end spoiler*
I also have some questions about Hush...is he horribly scarred underneath the bandages? It seems weird for him to keep wearing them after the Hush charade is over. Did something happen to him during the course of "Hush" or "Pushback"?
Thanks for helping out a forum newbie... And if you haven't given War Games a chance, I recommend it. The art is consistly good (except for Batgirl 55) and so is the writing. I've been pleasantly surprised, because while I love Batman, the comics seem to be mostly artifice these days. It's nice to have a story arc that isn't based on lining up the Rogues Gallery and then pummelling them all.

[glow=purple,2,300]Welcome to the boards Mistermccleary! I agree, War Games (so far) has been consistantly 'firing on all cylinders'. I have to say, I'm really impressed. Now lets see if I can answer some of your questions:
1) The man protecting Hush is called Proteus. He first appeared in a two issue story arc of Grant Morrison's JLA (which is considered by some to be one of his worst written arcs ever.) After he got defeted by Catwoman in JLA,( who just whipped him in the balls) he kinda fell into a character limbo. Then he appeared in Gotham Knights, and became Hush's bodyguard after Hush saved his life from arrows that Green Arrow shot into him.
2) As for who the people on page three are I only know a few: The man on the lower right is the new "pimp" Killer Croc. We can thank the Batman: Broken City writer for that wonderful character design. Yeah right. The man on the lower left is the Flash's arc villian called the Trickster. The man at the top center in Firefly (who is still Gar. Lynns btw). The lady on the upper right (from what I know) is, in fact, Lynx. The guy on the right of Firefly is called Electrocutioner and the guy to the left of him is called Suicide King. The other two ladies are members of the Ravens. Beyond that, I have no clue.
3)No. Hush is not facially scarred. His body however, from what we have been shown is. The reason for the bandages is purely Jeph Lobe's (the writer/creator of Hush) idea; he felt that since Tommy Elliot use to be a surgon, it would only be appropriate for him to wear bandages as a mask/costume.[/glow]
