Just a fun little "HOLY #)$)(@*#$" out of no where possiblity poll
The first two should really be the same one based on Iron Man's ID being revealed and Stark being the Secratary of Defense in Marvel Universe
The next two kind of are kind of a "wink" to the innuendos of the TV series and I could see DC wanting to do something like that, though I doubt the higher ups at WB would want THAT kind of publicity. I mean I can imagine the parent groups and religious right "media watch dogs" being all up in arms about a "beloved comic book character that children look up to and admire" being "twisted and pervereted" and all that BS. Probably easier to pull off with a lesser known character
The next two are basically "Bruce does the unexpected" as its considered Nightwing is "in line" for the "Batman" mantle so what if Tim Drake (or someone else) winds up replacing Bruce as Batman
The next two fall in "Lets make Dead MEANS DEAD" categories, something comic books rarely adhere to! Yeah Jason Todd doesn't count as "Robin" can exist if the person dies. Actually it'd be a HUGE "WHAT THE!" if it was Bruce Wayne himself being killed! And the new Batman continued the adventures
Ditto with the Rouges. Maybe not Joker, but say Penquin or Riddler was declared dead permantly, can you see DC wanting that.
Both open the door for writers to be creative, which is why I'd actually be in favor of that!

First of all, the Batman I know would never step down, and I would hope they'd never kill him off. Also, there is no one in all of comics fit to replace BATMAN IMO. But I think they could kill off a member of the bat family. In fact, they already have killed A few, not the least of whom are Kathy Kane, Jason Todd(altho he might have been ressurected), Stephanie Brown, and maybe Azrael, at least it would seem that way. So yeah, that's my choice.

[shadow=blue,left,300]Batman obtaining a government position--nah. I'm sure he'd notice flaws in the system and pretty much try to fix it. Gay Robin--meh. Gay Batman--*tears up inside* NO! Bruce Stepping Down--*ignores ;D* Someone else as Bats-- I want to see more solo Batman comics! And no. Bruce Wayne IS Batman. Period. DC Kills B-F member--thats what I voted for! DC Kills Villain--I would have voted for that as well...but WHO?? [/shadow]

Stark-no, Bruce wouldn't want govt. and wouldn't want it revealed who he was....especially since that would open Al up as a target. Gay Robin-if Tim leaves, sure, why not. No problem with that, personally. People are too homophobic as it is. Bruce gay-why? He's assexual anyway. Kill BF permanantly-Do you really think they are bringing Stephanie back? Me either. They didn't even give her a batcave memorial!!!! They've already done this! I think she'll fade away from mention in bat-comics, and only occasionally be mentioned in Robin/Titans. Kill a RG: Like jayne said, who??? Killer Croc? WHO CARES? The difference between the Batman Rogues Gallery and Flash's...Flash's are gradually changing to where they are copycats of Barry's RG for Wally...-new people are coming in doing the job their predecessars did. There cannot be a new Joker....a new Two-Face..a new Harley...a new Freeze...not most of the people. Killing them permanantly would be like killing Lex, Magneto, or Green Goblin permanantly...not gonna happen!

[glow=blue,2,300]Other than killing a Bat-sidekick, I can't see any of those happening.[/glow]

Pull a Tony Stark and have Bruce "out" himself: This wouldn't make sense for Batman, with Iron Man villians don't need to be afraid of Stark, just the super robot suit he's wearing... Would you be terrified if Donald Trump in a silly costume tried to foil your bank robbery? That's more comparable to if Batman 'outted' himself, He'd lose the whole element of mystery and fear and might as well fight crime in a business suit after that.
And/or obtain a high ranking goverment position: This also isn't in his character, he's not really a team player
Have a gay Robin: Already was one, His name's Dick Grayson... I mean c'mon! you look at that original Robin and/or Nightwing costume and tell me that's something a heterosexual boy/teen would willing wear. (I'm obviously joking... but maybe Nightwing is a metrosexual with his FABIOUS taste in costumes and the ladies)
Turning Bruce Wayne gay: I would say "meh" since it's not like I care if he's gay or not, but it seems very out of character give all throught Hush he's struggling with real feelings for Catwoman... plus with all the 'Catholic Preist' scandles if Bruce was outted it's only a matter of time until someone decides this is the kind of thing the DCU needs makes a story arc where Dick or Tim accuses Bruce of Child Mollestation, and all that would probably do is pervert years of history since in the new context we could never read a Golden Age story and see Batman and Robin as "old chums" but as a "creepy sexual predator" and his "helpless prey too scaried and weak to ask Superman for help"
Bruce stepping down and giving "Batman" to Tim: I don't think Bruce will ever perminately step down as Batman in the real comics... but who knows if Tim never developes into anything beyond Robin, maybe Dick would rather continue on as "Nightwing" and shine on his own and let Dick become Batman... doesn't seem un reasonable
Someone other than Tim or Dick being the next Bats: I think this isn't likely simply because I don't think there will ever be a 'next Batman' outside of what if's and Elseworlds.... but since Azreal and Terry McGuiness are the only 'other' Batmans besides Bruce I can think of it doesn't seem unlikely the Robins would be over looked.
DC kills a member of the "Bat-Family" permanatly: They don't do this every month already?
DC kills a member of the Rouges Gallery permanatly: They should totally kill off Clayface, but then it turns out it wasn't really Clayface it was Thomas Elliot in the form of Clayface... DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!!

[shadow=purple,left,300]This is a very interesting thread, Steve!
I can't see Bruce revealing his identity... but I could see his identity being revealed to everyone some other way. Something to totally shake-up the Batman universe forever.
Bruce wouldn't take a high-ranking government position. It's not his style.
Bruce is not gay. And if he is, then I'm done. That's not the Batman I grew up with... and like Dr. Baghead said, it would give off a creepy, child molester vibe that I don't ever want to think about. It's bad enough I'm already starting to analyze it...
A gay Robin? Nah. Though it would be more fitting than a gay Batman.
Personally, I would like it if DC would publish an issue where one of Batman's enemies kills off the entire kiddie cult that follows Bats around. I'm only fond of Tim Drake and Barbara Gordon... and somewhat fond of Nightwing. Still, the kids need to either die or grow old so Batman can go solo again. Those are typically the best storylines, anyway.
I can't see Batman handing down his cowl to someone else.
I'd love it if they killed off a villain. Preferably, I'd like to see the Riddler die. There's not much left to pull off with him. And besides, doesn't he have a brain tumor or some other condition as it is? [/shadow]

I could see them killing off a villain. Tehy can always make a new one like they did with HUSH and they just killed off Steph so it could be like a one-for-one thing (you know what i mean ? ;D)

[shadow=green,left,300]Great thread idea. I'll come back to this later to comment more, but I want to touch on the Gay Robin or Batman idea. Firstly, it kind of annoys me that we're all identified by our sexual orientation. I honestly don't think that should even be a topic of discussion....but sadly it is in this country. Whether or not Robin was gay would have no baring on the character. And if Batman were gay?! well who'd notice lol. He's a bit too wrapped up in the war to get jiggy these days.[/shadow]
