I'm currently reading Crisis on Infinite Earths! I'm one-fourth of the way through, so I'll post my thoughts when I'm done(maybe even a review).

Got volume 1 of DC: The New Frontier. Masterful in every way. The story is superb, epic, and dramatic, the characters are written to perfection, and the artwork is as bold and majestic as it is elegantly simplistic. The story also serves as a great commentary on the Cold War era. I especially enjoy reading young Hal Jordan's story- he really ties all the plot threads together, IMO- and Batman's really intense; I love how vampiric he looks and acts in the cathedral scene. J'onn J'onzz is also a delight to read. I'm immensely looking forward to reading volume 2, and also to see what the Direct-to-Video animated version is like.

I just re-read Gotham By Gaslight, which I know a lot of people loved, but to me still just an okay read.
I'm way behind on my current DCU books...

Just re-read the original 10 issues of V for Vendetta, probably for the 4th or 5th time, but it had been 8 years since the last time. I wanted to refresh my memory after buying the recent film version. I liked the film very much, but the original books are masterpieces of comic-book storytelling, and are above and beyond just about anything that has followed. Simply awesome!

Of late, it once again has been Catwoman. She REALLY has evolved into her own character since 2001, and deservedly so!
I also took on Batman: Thrillkiller. That has become the theme for the Batman I want in my fan films, because it has that special quality I love so much!

I forgot to post that I read volume 2 of The New Frontier not long after I read vol. 1, and as a whole I thought the saga was glorious, it had a superb story, and it really gave deep and fresh takes on the characters it portrayed, even though it is set during the cold war. Of course, it was also a great commentary on the cold war and the atomic and space ages. I just finished Justice volume 1 as well, which contained issues 1-4. Before I read it I hadn't read any of the series, and I loved it. The art By Braithwaite(pencils) and Ross(paints) was stunning, of course, but I was especially enthralled in the story and how much this writer, Jim Krueger, "gets" the characters. I also loved how they went classic, with Hal Jordan and Barry Allen and GL and Flash, and all the other heroes being the classic versions as well. I'd love to see where this is going, as I am fascinated by this situation where the villains are striking the Justice League with physical attacks and in the realm of reputation and public opinion. Plus its not often that I can be fascinated by every character in something like this. vol. 2 comes out in Feb., but I don't want to wait until then to get more of the story. However, it seems my comic shop is out of all the issues so far, so I may have to unless I can find #5-7 somewhere.
