Best Writer: Jeph Loeb Geoff Johns Devin Grayson Gail Simone Judd Winnick Brad Meltzer Bill Willingham
Best Artist: Jim Lee Michael Turner Tim Sale
Worst Writer: Fiona Avery Chris Claremont Grant Morrison (his X-men stuff...crap)
Worst Artist: Damion Scott (Robin) and most of the other artists who draw in this mixed Japan/American style that makes me wanna weep Everyone daredevil artist over the past few years....the art in DD just sucks.

I love Alex Ross myself, because everything he does is a realistic work of art, IMO. But that's just me. However, Jim Lee and Tim Sale are my all-time favorite Batman artists. They each have a different style, both of which I adore.

Tough to really say. For the most part, art, comic or otherwise is so subjective and is simply a matter of taste. Personally, I also love Alex Ross! I also love Jim Lee's stuff. I'm also fond of Mark Silvestri and countless others. Writers are similar. I have always been partial to Grant Morrison. I would say both art and writing, in my opinion, is best evaluated by consistancy. Example, Alex Ross may not appeal to you, but can you deny his overall talent? or argue he has maintained a consistant "standard"? Just like various writers (although a lot depends on individual taste regarding content). Most have at some point both hit and missed in their career. Some just tend to produce more "hit" than "miss" regularly. Example, I personally dont care for John Byrne's art at all and think his "talents" are quite overated? Yet I would be lying if I said he's never produced anything of quality. Similarly, I think Judd Winick is also overated but believe he has potential and will develop into a greater talent in time?
Just my two cents. but what do I know?

[shadow=purple,left,300]The best artist has to be Tim Sale. I really dig his style, the way the characters are drawn solid and how they appeal to their given universe. It's amazing. Jim Lee and Christopher Jones (from "The Batman Strikes!") are also my favorites.
I don't have a "least favorite" artist because I respect each artist's interpretations. The only artist I tend to lean away from is Alex Ross, only because his styles are just... odd. They're realistic, but sometimes they seem to be really out there. However, I do like his Batman. One of the best there is! [/shadow]
