see the real question is how the silver age Luthor and Power Girl both survived being erased from existance. we know now that this is the golden age Power Girl, Kara Zor-L. why did only they survive the erasing. and if Psycho Pirate is the one that brought them back (meaning the powers he used in Animal Man, he really does have), why bring back Power Girl, why not leave her confused? maybe the Anti-monitor wasn't destroyed, or someone controls his hand again.

Originally no one was erased from existance in Crisis on Infinite Earths. The original Superman, Power Girl and Huntress all survived the merging. Huntress was killed after that point. Apparently no one remembered the original Superman but he was there on the merged earth. But the silver age Luthor is difference. Assuming the official explanation is that certain changes took place after the merging as the earth realighed itself, possibly the Silver Age Lex might have been off of earth and outside the time stream when the change took place. It should be interesting to see how all of this is indeed explained.

I find myself extremely interested in Infinite Crisis, and the first issue was great, IMO. I already know pretty much everything about what happened in the original Crisis without having read it, thanks to great, in-depth online information I read on various sites some time ago, so I wasn't confused by Earth-2 Superman, altho some of you guys' comments helped clear up some things I'd forgotten or never knew. I'll get the Identity Crisis HC this weekend, which I can't wait to read, and I'm waiting for the OMAC project tpb, and I'll probably eventually buy the other 3 series in tpb form to fully understand the thing, as well as the Crisis of Concience tpb(eventually) and the Countdown issue. So hopefully I'll understand everything someday.

Infinite Crisis #2 is out! I liked it, and things are getting interesting, especially next issue, it seems, when something happens regarding Batman. I don't know why, but the one thing I don't like about this series is the interior art. It just seems sub-par, and I don't like the style at all. Why couldn't they just get Jim Lee to do the interior artwork as well? I know he's working on All-Star, but artists can do more than one comic at once...especially with all the time he and Miller are getting on All-Star B&R. This event is so big, I don't see how they can afford to have interior art that isn't gorgeous.

SPOILER . . . . . I'm not sure if I like where this is heading. GA Superman stating that they may have saved the "wrong earth." I didn't know they had a choice.

Maybe all the remaining heroes of the Post-Crisis Earth will band together to stop Earth-2 Superman from destroying their Earth(or causing it to be forgotten). It looks like in the next issue he gives Batman the option of joining him, but I doubt Batman would ultimately join him at the cost of all the lives on this Earth; our Batman would oppose him, I think. I don't think I want Earth-2 to be THE Earth of the DC Universe; I like the modern, much darker Earth, thank you very much(especially our Batman). But all this is getting very interesting, IMO, what with "survivors" of alternate Earths popping up. I really want to know what happens with Pre-Crisis Luthor, the Luthor apparently heading The Society.

Anybody have a large image of the Jim Lee cover for #3, by the way? I've seen a small one, and it looks great.

Turning earth 2 Superman into a "villian" would be the stupidist move DC could make. He was technically the first super hero. It's like when SGT. Slaughter turned heel and sided against the USA in the old WWF during the Gulf war (I think). I mean he was on the G.I. Joe cartoon. He was a hero! I hated those days...I felt betrayed as a fan I.......*ahem* GA Superman good, DC not make bad. Dats all.

I didn't get the impression that GA Superman was out to destroy the current Earth. I don't think DC is out to make him a villain. Quite the opposite, I think.
Rather, I had the sense that he's saying they need to restore the DCU to a place where heroes are heroic. (How that happens, we'll see ...)
I'm still wondering whether we won't see a return to multiple earths by the end of this. It's a concept in some respects I'll welcome.

After reading the IC hero profiles in Wizard I am less concerned about GA Superman becomin any kind of villian. In fact it was stated that he is the greatest Superhero because, unlike the modern version, he would not hesitate to act.

Does it have to Bruce that dies? No it doesn't. It could be Superman, The Green Lantern, or the Blue Beetle. So why the speculation focussed on Bruce?

So why the speculation focussed on Bruce? It's a Batman forum, none of us want Bruce to die. By the way, I vote for Superman. It's the only one I can think about dying and having someone young take his place.

I see where you're coming from. I can't see anyone else being Batman. But there are people that think Cassandra Cane will take over. But that wouldn't be Batman would it?

Right you are inmate, it wouldn't be Batman. It would still be Batgirl or she could upgrade to Batwoman. A reason for my choice is that Superboy is clone of Superman, right?

Cassandra Cain can still take over for Bruce, just because she's a girl means nothing. she'd be assuming the role, not the costume. i'm hoping that if a character has to die, its not Bruce or any other members of the Bat family. but i believe the speculation is on Batman because he's Batman and because it makes people talk about it. its rumors and speculation, we wont know until 2006 when its over. Does it have to Bruce that dies? No it doesn't. It could be Superman, The Green Lantern, or the Blue Beetle. Blue Beetle is dead.

Jlavia, thanks for that bit of info. I didn't know the Blue Beetle was dead. & Cassandra Cain could assume the mantle but not the suit. But all I'm saying is if she did it wouldn't be BatMAN

I think I know who it will be...George Washington Carver, the GUY WHO INVENTED PEANUT BUTTER! Yes-yes, it all makes perfect sense now...Oh, wait..No it doesn't...But, then again, who'd ever suspect him until it's too late? Only, THE SHADOW KNOWS!

RUMOR!! Highlight to read! Wally West is going to die in the upcoming Crisis. Waid will be writing The Flash post Crisis and Bart is The Flash. If that happens....I might just stop collecting comics altogether. Especially after recent events in that book. I'll be seriously pissed.
